England's group is one of the easier ones for sure

    Group D looks tough

Fairly unexciting draw. No group strikes me as particularly difficult or "deadly". However, Group A and H look quite easy on paper, and are possible borefests...

Iceland in group with Argentina, Sweden in group with Germany, and Denmark in group with France. Brutal!

Although they all face one "giant" each, none of the nordic nations have particualrly hard groups, and they all have decent chances of qualifying.

Very happy with England's group...if we don't get out of that group then me and international football are finished.

An easy draw for most of the 'big' teams...group D seems the toughest.

So first games against Panama and Tunisia, 6 out of 6 points should be possible. Next game against the English to decide the group winners.

If all goes well, that is.

Love how Gary pretends to be as multilingual as the Russian bird by only asking the Spanish speakers their opinion.

Pretty underwhelming to be honest. Portugal v Spain the only stand out match really.

Not happy with the lunchtime kick off against Tunisia on Monday 18th June..i will have to book a day off.

England will face Tunisia in Volgograd on 18 June, then Panama in Novgorod on 24 June, before they play Belgium on 28 June in Kaliningrad.

Brazil or Krauts in the quarters.

I'll take that (assuming we don't lose to Panama obviously).

Yep...IF IF IF IF we get through the group phase,it does look an easy draw for the last 16.
They have every chance of hitting the quarters at least.

England's midfield is a concern for me, everyone fit we have a good attack and an improving defence. We will probably fall in the last 16

True. Poland no mugs and will probably have enough to see us off.

Joe Hart is a concern also he has a mistake waiting to happen most games now, Hart it seems is only being picked as number 1 based on experience. I hope the likes of Pickford have a good second half of season though it may still be too early for Pickford.

Yeah, but I was hoping for easier groups for our neighbors – meeting England or something would have been easier (huh-huh!)

Mexico aren't bad, so that will be a test for Sweden. Croatia and Nigeria can be tough for Iceland, as well. Aside from France, Denmark has the "best" group of the three.

Totally agree. Hart lucky to be on the plane for me. Pickford certainly has to start.

England might get lucky if the MIG starts if the Court gets injured or food poisoning. :)

Mignolet played a solid friendly against Japan last month. But there is no doubt Courtois is our number one.
Mignolet had a good game today – only conceding a penalty. Philippe Coutinho had an even better game.

Nice warm up to the main event, Arsenal-Manchester United. And Lacazette and Özil starts! Sure need the creativity tonight!

    I absolutely hate this!

    ----

Losing to United that way when Arsenal played so well, is just irritating. Still, the defensive mistakes early on made the result, because after the first two goals for United, Arsenal played really well.

Cracking game though you are right the game was won in the first quarter of the match, Ultimately the best defence won.

Edited: The referee and his assistants made some poor decisions after watching again.

Yeah, there was a clear penalty not given for Arsenal when Welbeck was fouled inside the box. Could have been a game changer, but Andre Marriner of course didn't give it. How the linesman couldn't see that either is even more controversial!

A journalist actually defended Pogba on Twitter last night. Crazy.
