Carroll is 10 times the player Borini is.

That 35m is gone now whatever so is it better to keep Big Andy or bin him off and bring in someone far worse for another 12 mil down the toilet?

At least Andy still has some resale value - you'd be lucky if anyone offered more than 1.5m for useless Fabio.

!2 mill for another Sturridge sounds good. That's what he cost.

Andy is not good enough to play for liverpool.
Send borini back to italy like they did to aquillani.

Chelsea are a joke and Rafa has a bad attitude. They are both putting themselves in a bad light and have no respect for each other. It demonstrates exactly what they are. A laughing stock.

Ahhh boo hoo Rafa. The thing is, the fans DO supporty Chelsea, it's Benitez they don't support.
As a Chelsea fan, and proud of it I have no doubt he was the worst choice that Abramovich could've made. Interim manager or manager, Rafa was never going to get the support of Stamford Bridge. The biggest problem Chelsea have is Roman having to much say and getting rid of good managers. I certainly wouldn't call them a laughing stock, they just need some stability. Hopefully the talk of Jose Mourinho return is true. Would be a double whammy if he could then get Ray Wilkins back.

This has been a long time coming! I think Ambramovich's attitude to who ever the manager is? Or will be in the future? Is a big turn off now as nothing appears to be good enough for him? Pretty disgraceful how Di Matteo was treated!

Well done Rafa. About time twattish Chelsea fans were told where to get off. The lack of respect since day one has been staggering but then what do you expect from people who hold such an abomination of a human being as JT in such high regard?

To hear Chelsea fans pining for such a European heavyweight manager like Di Matteo with his 3 games of CL experience and a sacking from West Brom on his CV and to say hes better than Rafa who owned Europe for 3 years with a mediocre squad is frankly laughable.

Would love it if Rafa walks tomorrow and they finish 5th.

Careful @TheWizardOfIce as a Chelsea fan I don't appreciate being refered to that way.
I also would love to see Rafa walk tomorrow though.

    If the cap fits....

Rafa is a top European manager and you are fast running out of them with your laughable recruitment policy but you would sooner drive him out with your childish banners and chants. Be careful what you wish for as theyre saying Avram will take over till the end of the season and anyone who thinks hes a better manager than Rafa truly is a twat.

Without meaning to offend anyone on these boards I wholeheartedly agree. I've lived darn sarf for two years now working in a sports shop as my 'student job', so naturally I get to meet all sorts of fans and do you know what? I haven't met a single Chelsea fan who has had anything at all decent to say about any other team or player. Honestly not one single one has had any sort of knowledge or understanding of football or even life for that matter. The majority I have met have a snakey cockiness about their 'brilliant club , the Chelsea fans I have met really are a deluded bunch, only happy when they're given crappy plastic flags to wave about and love nothing more than to boo there players and manager , or staying at home while there brilliant club parade their first ever European cup( that was an appalling victory parade) .
Oh and then there was the FA cup semi final last season between spurs and chelski, where a large number of rentboy gobshites who have been thoroughly educated on life, decide to chant 'murderers' during the minutes silence for 96 Liverpool fans who lost their lives at Hillsborough .
    What a classy bunch!

Give me anyone above them gobshites! Even the mancs!

I'm just stating, to coin a phrase, facts.

Di Matteos CV is a joke compared to Rafas - even if you say he is responsible for the CL win.

Chelsea are a mid level club (Trophies before Roman lavished them with his ill gotten roubles - 1 league, 3 FA cups, 2 League cups, 2 Cup winners cups. Average gate before Roman - about 20,000) who need to maintain this level for 50 years before they can be considered on a par with Liverpool, Utd, Barca, Real, Bayern, Milan, Juve, Ajax etc. Not even as big a club as Villa or Forest.

John 'captain, leader, legend' Terry is a pretty despicable individual - abusing American tourists the day after 9/11, parking his Bentley in a disabled space, abusing his position as England captain by charging for tours of the training ground, shagging Bridges missus which ultimately had the knock on effect of destabilising the England camp in South Africa culminating in the meltdown following his outburst which was tantamount to mutiny (OK Fabio to blame for not cutting him loose but still not professional enough to get on with it like a man as everything has to revolve around him) and all the Anton Ferdinand stuff which forced the England manager to resign.
And then theres the all time classic - dressing up in full kit (including shin pads FFS) to go and collect a trophy for a match he didnt play in! The guy is utterly without class - have a look at Scholesy and Keane in 99 for how to behave when youre banned from a final.

But then lack of class runs through the club like a stick of rock. From arsehole Kenyon going up to collect his medal (again look at Utd and Sir Bobby for how it should be done) to Cashley shooting someone and barely getting a slap on the wrist to how they think they have a god given right to be competing at the top after just 10 years of being in the big time.

Much as I loathe Utd and Fergie, DCisared is spot on. At least they are a true football club who know how to do things properly and with dignity. Dignity and class are alien concepts at the Bridge.

Trouble is, you seem to be tarnishing all with the same brush. When as with everything in life it is a sad few. The minority who ruin it for all.
All clubs have supporters and players we'd rather not. At the end of the day, if they are your thoughts, then they're best kept to yourselves, because I for one am not going to be labelled a twat because you don't like Chelsea.

In my initial post I just said well done Rafa for telling 'twattish Chelsea's fans' some home truths.

The fans I am referring to are the ones Rafa meant that create a poisonous atmosphere around the club by booing a title winning, CL winning, FA cup winning, UEFA cup winning manager 3 months after his appointment rather than getting behind the team.

There are no doubt a lot of Chelsea fans who understand the game, want to support the team and are embarrassed by a lot of the baggage surrounding the club. There is also a very vocal minority who think a number two like Di Matteo is a better manager than someone with Rafas record, that JT walks on water and they have a right to contest the title and CL final year in year out simply because they have been spoiled over the last ten years when most of them started being fans. Those people are twats.

Now I don't know which group you fall into so I'll have to leave that for you to decide for yourself.

But a football thread is supposed to be all about banter so try and offer something a bit more interesting than just whining that you don't like being slagged off.

Instead of bleating like someone in the playground has nicked your bag of smokey bacon frazzles why not call me a hypocrite for loving racist Suarez but slating JT? Just a thought - it will make for a much more lively debate.
  • That's the problem with football threads, it descends into mudslinging and who hates who, but hey it's fun. Loserpoo are sh**! And Chelski are twa**! ;)

Being a Norwich fan? I don't mind losing to Man U!!! As long as we pick up 4 to 6 points the rest of this month? I will be happy! [-O< Thankfully all the teams below didn't fair well today either! :-SS

The only winners at the bottom were QPR and they are still bottom. Getting tight down there though.

Coutinho played very well for liverpool.
It's a shame Sturridge didn't play as it could have been more goals and i had him in my Fantasy league as well. :(

We did alright today. When we lost Taylor and Cole in the first 10 mins or so I thought that'd be it but we came through and I think we deserved the win.

We hadn't had an away victory for a good few months until now so that's something.

That's a shame for you - I had Suarez and I put him captain! Jurassic Park!

We actually looked decent yesterday - although it was Wigan and Pepe still had to make about 4 worldies - and if we manage to blag an early goal we can take teams apart. The trouble comes when teams park the bus and we aren't good enough to break them down and they hit us on the break.

Anyway much as I don't want Arsenal to finish top 4 going to have to root for them today as if they win and we do Spurs next week the gap will only be 6 points and we will have some momentum and no other distractions. Maybe we could still sneak it?

Just need Bale to do his cruciate and its certainly game on.

Suarez must have got a few points as captain?

    Very droll.

Just like if you give a monkey a typewriter and all of infinity he will eventually type the complete works of Shakespeare, if Downing plays often enough eventually one of his aimless kicks will somehow end up in the net.

It's been scientifically proven that monkey fingers are too big to use a typewriter.......
It's great that downing scored. That way his market value goes up so we can get rid of him easier and for more money and get someone who can really play.

I know that us Liverpool fans like to call Robbie fowler God and rightly so , but if ever their was a god on this planet then it has to be Lionel messi . Messi's 42 Liga goals is more than 12 different PL teams - 14 Serie A teams - 12 Bundesliga teams & 15 Ligue 1 teams.

    The man isn't real.
  • Great win for the Saints yesterday. All over Liverpool. Frustrating that Saints turn it on against Liverpool and have beaten the likes of City at St Mary's yet lose to a shower of *hit like QPR. Very annoying. Need to pick up more points around those in the bottom half but things look promising again to stay up. :)

Yea we were woeful , credit to saints although any team wanting to actually have a go at us usually finds us out. I don't no whether or not we need a whole new defence or a change in style?
    We define mid table.

Perhaps a bit of both. This season is becoming yet another let down for you. Seems a lot of work needs to be done to get you back to challenging the top four. As for the mighty Saints, prem survival is vital and then Corteses plans are for Europe although I think this is crazy talk right now and will take a lot longer!

What did you make of Adkins dismissal? Surely did no wrong and was over performing if anything?

In my eyes he did no wrong, I was initially shocked and annoyed at his dismissal. The guy won back to back promotions. Not many mangers have such a feat on their CV. He was very enthusiastic and bright. I understand Cortese has his vision for the club and wants to usher in a new era which if it pays off will be great. I think Atkins however had earnt his chance to be that man but this is modern football, with foreign owners hiring and firing at the drop of a hat. I think they could have given him longer in the job as he was most certainly steering us to safety and as I say, he'd earned his chance.

As for Pochettino, he looks to be enthusiastic and ambitious so hopefully he is going to end up being the right man. If not, then he'll be yet another casualty of modern management.
