Can't wait! This is getting ridiculous!

This is a similar refrain to Jurgen the other week against Everton: 'Oh the ref has robbed us'.*

That's the risk you run when you don't put shit teams to bed and that's not the ref's fault is it.

*Although the one against us was a clear penalty despite his comical attempts to suggest it wasn't.

But It is the highly paid ref's fault for making penalty decisions that are wrong.
Managers have every right to complain about penalties given that are wrong.

Imagine if that happens in a cup final like the 1990 World cup final. Do You remember that one wizkid?

Very true. But shit happens. Arsenal were unlucky but you note Wenger doesn't bemoan the massive slice of fortune that came their way 5 minutes earlier when the crappy free kick straight into the wall managed to ricochet its way into the net.

Can't say I remember the penalty incident just that it was a dog of a match and the Argies deserved to lose.

You're very quiet about Salah these days.
Is Salah a World class player now, in your Uneducated opinion ?

You seem to hand out the term world class with the same alacrity Jimmy Savile does Smarties on a kid's cancer ward.

Salah is playing very well and has been for 4 months now but that doesn't make you world class. Harry Kane's been doing it for 3 years in a row and only now do I hear people less uneducated than you bandying the term world class about. As I keep repeating after every time he batters a Bournemouth or a West Brom (oops we couldn't unlock their rock solid defence could we even with such 'world class' attacking talent) and you get a lob on - come back in 18 months when he's consistently been operating at this level and I won't disagree with you but 20 odd games?

Vardy and Mahrez were smashing it just like Salah this time a couple of years ago - are they world class?

You seem to be a Jimmy Savile connoisseur as you seem to mention him often.

Go to youtube to see who he has scored against in Serie A the past 3 seasons and the world class quality he has shown.

Jimmy Savile in the Football Thread ?

    That's an unexpected turn up.

Well Jose has gone to a 3 in midfield with Pogba able to push forward which is what I wanted, hope we can stop the rot and get a win.

Yesterdays news, but this got me really annoyed. Petr Čech explaining what happened when he got a yellow:

on if he’s ever been this angry after a decision…
I’m just disappointed because of the penalty situation. I expect, when I walk towards the referee with respect and ask him a question, I would like him to answer me in a normal way and not give me a yellow card and say nothing.

Must be another side to this story, because I can't understand Mike Dean here…

Two wins in two starts for Tettey, and 6-1-0 with Tettey from start this season, 2-6-10 without – according to some tweets I just read. Don't know how he's played, but that's good stats!

Agreed. Liverpool take a lot of flak, sometimes rightly so, so this was a cracking result. Same with the Leicester game. Liverpool were far from their best but showed enough character to get the 2 wins. Unfortunately, that will no doubt not be looked at.

A lot is made of Liverpool’s defensive frailties, again, most times rightly so, but, apart from Man City, Liverpool have lost the least amount of games in the Prem, just 2. The issue is too many draws and turning those into wins, which in the last 2 games they have.

I know there is a lot of work to do but, as a supporter of over 40 years, I shall always be positive. I am sure that VVD will fit in well and, hopefully, help rid the team of, some of, the defensive issues.

Liverpool have made lots of defensive gaffes this season, but have had a high number of clean sheets too, which Lineker and his “beard” have readily ignored.

Agree with all of that (apart from always being positive! Minger and Karius are still going to get both barrels from me until we're rid of them) and these 2 last results have been the most satisfying of the season as we've managed to turn them into wins rather than folding faster than someone with a 7th dan origami belt.

If the season had started today I'd be teetering on being optimistic.

We have missed him badly, now we have entered the transfer window madness and already Jerome is being linked with a move back to Birmingham City for £1.5 Million? Allegedly to trim the wage bill?! Not a good sign at all as we are short of up front firepower!

Tettey was linked with a return to Rosenborg not long ago, but those rumours were later denied by Tettey himself. Don't think he'll make a return to Trondheim and Rosenborg this month. Probably a chance sometime in the future.

    _________
According to Twitter, Arsene Wenger has been charged by the FA after bust-up with referee Mike Dean. You really can't say anything to that guy without receiving a card or a ban! Ridiculous!

Arsene needs to learn to shut up though, and not always make such a fuss! I think the constant complaining and moaning about referees both during games and in interviews by some managers, is incredibly tedius and childish. You are grown men, for f´s sake!

Both agree and disagree here. One could argue that shutting up is the best thing to do, but at the same time – as a manager, you need to have the opportunity to voice your opinion when the referees make terrible decisions. They are more or less untouchable at the moment!

Except Wenger is a laughing stock. Anything against his team and his vision is inexplicably blocked at the crucial moment but anything for them he fortuitously manages to see every detail in IMAX 3D.

Everyone gets shit decisions (although I have to say that there have been a lot recently) but Wenger of all people should be on his knees giving thanks for inept refereeing because he's able to use it to deflect from his shortcomings. If the refs got every decision bang on what would he say in the press conference to defend another abject performance?

That could just as well have been your talisman, 'Guvnor Mou', you're describing there...

The fact is that there is a selection of managers who systematically moan and complain about referees every week. I find this incredibly annoying, embarrasing and childish! I can understand losing ones temper occationaly, but some of these people feel the need to complain about every inconvinience to justify their team's poor results. This ridiculous trend has to end! I have no sympathy for Arsene (or Mou) in this case. They deserves to get punished for systematic and deliberate attempts to manipulate referees and decisions!

They have had unlimited opportunities to 'express themselves'. It's the fact that they can never stop that is the problem...

The poor guy has his excuses though. He only got 300 million to invest in the summer, and he has all the referees as well as the FA against him! I'm fighting my tears here!

I don't think it's childish at all. In fact, in circumstances like this, I think it's better to see your team's manager voice his opinion, instead of just going "yes, Sir" to the ref.

That equalizer felt good, but then again, a win was needed. Just two more matches against Chelsea in January to go, now!

Sorry @barryt007 but I wanted Chelsea to win that one. Less than ten minutes to go, we should be defending better. Arsenal have scraped a draw several times this season very late.
I guess that means we can still be friends though. So every cloud and all ;)
