4-2 Forrest (penalty again). WHAT THE…! Touched the other foot before going into the net. Should not have stood.

    Red card Forrest (second yellow).

Full time: 4-2. Horrible, horrible game.

    Feel for you, mate!

Quite possibly the worst performance from Arsenal lately. It's been more than just this one of course, but this was just… I don't know. One less competition to think about for Wenger, then.

Looking at Arsenal's starting line up Wenger took a gamble

Indeed. This results might force him to use a better starting eleven in the other competitions, given the performance in today's game. Not against him starting the younger players, but he should at least have some more regular starters on the bench to put on to turn games in their favor.

Were Ozil or Sanchez in the match day squad?

Not at all. Neither in the starting eleven or on the bench.

Who knows? From Wenger's latest comments, it doesn't look like Arsenal are buying any more players this transfer window (he already got Konstantinos Mavropanos a few days ago), so I can't see him selling either of them, really. Then again, stranger things has happened.

But anyway he's not even close to being better than Suarez. And at the end of the season lets see who has more medals as a few goals against Burnley and Bournemouth not much to tell your grandkids about and he won't win player of the season either as De Bruyne has that sewn up.

Would be absolute madness for City to pay that unless they think he can certainly win them the CL. The title is already won so why not just wait till the summer?

If Arsenal get £35m for a 29 year old with 6 months to go that will be the best bit of business by any club ever and will save Wenger's bacon yet again. Hahaha! That's quite the comparison! One part of me thinks: Fine, do it! Get it over with and search for another player. The other parts thinks: Selling him will sure make it impossible for Arsenal to win anything this season – most of all the EL, which is the only way for Arsenal to secure CL play next season (if you ask me) – not forgetting how Arsenal is on the transfer market too. I can imagine a scenario where Wenger agrees a deal for Sánchez, only to fail getting someone like Lemar just minutes before the transfer window closes, not replacing Sánchez at all…

They don't pay top dollar, they don't compete for the big trophies and they've been on a downward trajectory for some time which no one at the club seems to have any inclination to arrest.

I guess for some players the odd FA cup and living in London might be enough but I'll wager the kind of player with that attitude won't ever be picking up the balon d'or.

Anyone decent watching Sanchez and Ozil desperately scrambling to get out of there (not to mention mediocre players like the Ox) would surely tell their agent to shove it up their arse if they said 'What do you think about a move to Arsenal?'

This is the current situation, yes. I guess Sven Mislintat joining the club as 'head of recruitment', is most of all to find young prospects which they can develop into (hopefully) top players. This is where Arsenal are at. Looking forward, a new manager might help getting big names to the club – if said manager is a big name or up-and-coming name himself. Don't think Arsenal can change the trajectory in quite some time. There must be a drastic change in place to do that.

Those last two sentences sum up the ethos of everyone at the club. There's one avenue of change open to you; it's called sacking the manager. It's what every other club in the world does. For some they get worse, for some it doesn't make much difference but guess what for some they actually get better. But you don't change anything by doing nothing.

The whole club seems to be addicted to Wenger like he is pure heroin and despite lying in their own piss and vomit with no job for the past 10 years they can't contemplate going cold turkey and giving up the ever decreasing highs their drug is delivering them.

Do you think Kroenke and the board will ever fire Wenger, as long as the tv deal money, and secured PL place – and the possibility of CL play is within reach? Hell no, they won't. This is a steady stream of money straight into Kroenke & Co's pockets. Wenger will sit out his current contract unless he himself quits. On top of that, there's always the possibility of him taking another year or two after that, if the right candidate isn't lined up – or candidates, as Wenger really has several roles in the club.

The biggest issue isn't Wenger himself/alone if you ask me, it's the work done (or not!) behind the scenes to take the club forward when Wenger eventually retires. With that in mind, having Sven Mislintat joining the club came as a pleasant surprise.

3-1 Forrest (penalty). I really don't have words for this…

Do you think one or more is on there way out of the club this window?

Who knows? From Wenger's latest comments, it doesn't look like Arsenal are buying any more players this transfer window (he already got Konstantinos Mavropanos a few days ago), so I can't see him selling either of them, really. Then again, stranger things has happened.

    Moments later, I read this:

Don't know how reliable this is, though…

Just watched the highlights on YouTube, Forest's second was some goal though I can see why you were not happy Arsenal were very sloppy giving away possession and the penalties.

Surely you are not stupid enough to not know that "The Egyptian Maradona" is just a nickname.

With you it's impossible to tell. I pity Salah if he ever bumps into you in a Travel Tavern and happens to need to impress a pair of Irish TV executives:

001: 'I'm your biggest fan Mohammed. Stop by next week and we'll go and see my brother in law.'
Salah: 'No way you big spastic you're a mentalist.'

And if he ever has the misfortune to crash his car in the snow his career will be over as he wakes up to you sledge hammering his ankles to stop him leaving you.

Is Salah having a better season than Suarez ? Yes or no ?

You didn't say who was having the better season you said:
'Amazing skills and speed not seen since suarez but better'

Please try and keep track of your lunacy.

But anyway he's not even close to being better than Suarez. And at the end of the season lets see who has more medals as a few goals against Burnley and Bournemouth not much to tell your grandkids about and he won't win player of the season either as De Bruyne has that sewn up.

Salah scored 2 goals in the game for Egypt to qualify for the WC. Last time was 1990.
    No,not good enough for you.............

Ladies and Gentleman (and non-binaries) please allow @001 to present the new international barometer of being a legend of the game: scoring a brace in an African qualifying group containing the might of Uganda, Ghana & Congo.

Kind of puts Pele's 1000 goals in the shade somewhat.

Yeah poor Barca only 17 points clear of them in the league (although Real currently leading as we speak).

What was it called again. Ah yes, Football for Dummies..........

I'm not the celebrity fan type who asks for autographs so if i saw Salah i wouldn't bug him unlike yourself who if you saw your DREAMBOAT Rory Kinnear, you would probably take off your top and ask him to sign your nipples. :)

Uganda, Ghana & Congo aren't easy beats for Egypt but with Salah he lead the country to qualify for the WC.

I know you want him to fail because you're a pessimistic Idiot.

Why can't you be like all the other Liverpool fans around the World who love watching him play ?????????

It's not like the senior players were any better than the younger players in this game, either. Maitland-Niles looked decent in comparison to most of the team, though. Coming from good performances in the PL lately, that wasn't really surprising.

Salah has certainly made a great start, but he isn’t world class.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter if individuals think he's world class or not, as long as he keeps playing the way he does for Liverpool, the real Liverpool supporters are happy to have such talented players in the club.

What do you guys think about the Firmino vs Holgate incident? What is likely to happen there?

By that logic Thomas Gravesen was world class, and Jerzy Dudek.

Chris Hughton odds on favourite for the England manager once Gareth has been savagely exposed by Panama.

Personally I'd go for Hope Powell. You get two boxes ticked for the price of one and she once took an England team to a final.

According to the journalist Raphael Honigstein, Klopp personaly told Dortmund topush up the price for Dembele, hoping that Barca would run out of funds for Coutinho. I don't know were he has this information from or if it's any truth to it... but if it is... I guess many Liverpool fans would hope he could show the same cunning on the tactics board ;)

1-1. Manchester City running the show now. Still, Bristol have made it difficult for Pep's men tonight.

…And of course Manchester City got another win in the end.
