I agree Torg...Pope would be perfect for Arsenal.
Theo for Mahrez, maybe?
Own goal Jones! A beauty, to be fair…
Arsenal could need some proper praying for sure!
Hahaha cant argue with that once again this season !
Is a-nal the short form?
Whatever it takes!
Bournemoth ahead away against Chelsea, as well. All that FPL money spend on Alonso…
0-2 Bournemouth! What the…
Cheer up I've got sodding Jones too!
And it was all going so well: Salah, Can, Firmino, Ayew, Eriksen all smashing it until that gormless twat just belted it past his own keeper.
You immeduately go from 'one of the three heavy favourites' to 'one of the teams that could've won it' that year. Enough said.
For all the invincibles is an impressive achievement it doesn't necessarily translate into CL success. Liverpool got to two finals in three years and never came anywhere near winning the title. Arsenal have only ever been one of a number of clubs that could conceivably have won it with a fair wind behind them but nothing more than that.
Well I can't argue with the facts of who they played. But you can only beat what's put in front of you and that's what Jose did and Fergie, Ottmar Hitzfeld, Carlo Ancelotti, Marcelo Lippi and one Arsene Wenger didn't. But obviously unless you beat Bayern, Barca, AC Milan and Real in that order a European cup triumph with a team from a tinpot league is meaningless.
I'll take umbrage at this point though: 'and featured stars like Ricardo Carvalho and Deco, who went on to have great careers in Real Madrid and Barcelona'.
The point is they weren't stars at the time (otherwise they wouldn't be playing in Portugal!) they became stars because they were CL winners.
But obviously a Barca fan will never be able to bring himself to give Jose credit for anything, even translating:)
That said I'll be surprised if Utd dig anything out of this match. A pain in the arse as could do with Spurs dropping points really.
At least Bournemouth have suddenly stuck 3 goals past Chelski at the Bridge...!! :)
And Vardy scores...PL fantasy points at last !!
Not the night to count on Alonso for clean sheet. This is incredible!
This is a mad mad night...with the totally insane PL scores ,deadline day which could go on until 1am if certain papers are signed, and being an Arsenal fan.
De Bruyne scores...more PL fantasy points !!
Is it true i have heard that Fellaini only came on for 12 mins and was substituted by Herrera and stormed down the tunnel ??!!
Deadline Day and these results is almost too much!
Don't have KdB in my team. That's a gamble every week…
Without him scoring I would have made big jumps in a mini league! Great player, though.
I don´t have a problem giving him credit for winning that CL title, which I infact do in my original post. You have to view my comment in the actual context it was written: The statement being "you have to win the CL with an underdog" to prove you are a manager at the level of Jose". I think that thesis is pretty ridiculous and ill informed. Why not go "you have to win the Euro Cup with an underdog to prove you are as good as Rehagel" when you are at it? One of the beautys of the sport is that non favorites can win with the necesarry luck. Porto had that in 04 regarding draws and the competition they faced as well as fortune on the field in the necesarry moments. That doesn´t necesarrily have to do with ˋgeniusˋ.
Edit: corrected to £7m.
Would think they could have pulled some money for a defender out with £7m spent.
We always leave it late....hang on !
Come on, one more signing! One more signing!
_________
Transfer window closed!
That's more than us FFS.
We're £71 in credit. Even Mike Ashley jealous of that kind of transfer business.
Would have thought, with all that money, Liverpool would have done more in the last days of the transfer window. No surprise Arsenal didn't get a defender, either. Aubameyang & Co need to score some goals to weight up for the goals Arsenal will concede the rest of the season.
Re. Ashley: Do you guys think Newcastle can be happy with their transfer window? Got Slimani last night, but still.
Will be interesting to see Sørloth at Crystal Palace! Reports tell that this might be the most expensive transfer of a Norwegian player to the PL. He'll get the nr. 9 shirt, according to Palace's Twitter account. Here's hoping he'll score some goals against Sp*rs later this month! :D
Also confirmed today, Alexander Søderlund returns to Rosenborg after a spell at St. Etienne. Having him and Lord Bendtner up front makes Rosenborg well prepared for the season ahead!
;)
HAHAHA! :)) Only missing the nose ring, the piercings, the tattoo's, the beard and the long hair! That guy was actually on TV here earlier this season, when TV2 (who owns the PL rights in Norway) sent a tv personality over to England to find her English club. She actually ended up as a Palace fan – and this was BEFORE Hodgson turned the ship for them!
_____
Lord Bendtner became coach Bendtner for one day at Rosenborg's training camp at Gran Canaria. Brilliant! :-D

As well as on the field. Scored twice and provided an assist ln his debut for Dortmund.
Saw that! Good for him to get such a flying start at Dortmund. He's a good player, even though his Chelsea career has been a bit difficult.
______
Watching Burnley-Man City now. Kompany playing rough against the Burnley team so far!
I think he’s a good option up front for Belgium. Also, as a striker it’s never easy at a club like Chelsea. The attacking play of Dortmund should suit him better.
Very true. The loan to Dortmund can be very beneficial. Will be interesting to see how he'll do in the Bundesliga!
How is the Belgian team doing these days? Have you got hold off a better coach finally?
How has Mkyt been doing?
Two assists – now to Aubameyang who makes it 4-0!
