Do you seriously consider that to be a "crass generalisation"? I didn't interpret it as a very serious comment myself. And although it's a generalisation, you have to admit he has somewhat of a point? I have a lot of respect for English football fans, but you guys are slightly self absorbed to say the least.
But again: This wasn't meant to be a serious discussion like that...
Cristiano ronaldo and other madrid players always say they were robbed by the referee as he did again when they lost to barca.
What do you think about that jobo?
What do you think about that jobo?"
Cristiano Ronaldo has always been a bad loser. That's nothing new...
You felt it necessary to behave like a cretin when I was clearly communicating with somebody else. I do not know about your urges but I do not have to accept them now do I?
I lived in that country for quite a while and do spend time there whenever my finances allow. I have a real positive feeling towards the general Englishman/woman, like the Scots, Welsh & Irish a lot too.
And while they have many great aspects when it comes to their soccer tastes they generally do not care about anything else but the Britsih competition. And I do not blame them when even managers of big clubs in the UK have stated in the past that the European compitition, CL & EL, are not important enough.
I find the British football entertaining, I also watch French, German, Spanish & Italian football besides my own countries competition.
And I find it easy to admit that a game like Madrid vs Barcelona is the best the European competition has to offer. And when it is such a brillaint game it should be applauded instead of any statement of how great the British game is.
He is a bad loser when it comes to the matched vs Barcelona & Messi his biggest opponents in the competition.
The penalty Ronaldo was awarded was the only one that was doubtfull as it took place outside the box.
It's not only cristiano who's a bad loser..............
Several Real Madrid players have berated official Alberto Undiano Mallenco after their El Clasico defeat - with Sergio Ramos saying he hopes he never referees them again.
Ramos was sent off for an apparent tug on Neymar for the visitors' first spot kick and the Spanish defender has led the criticism of the referee, after the 19th dismissal of his career.
He said: "We don't generally talk about referees, but for the good of Real Madrid and of football, let's hope Undiano does not officiate another of our games this season.
"I am surprised that they chose him. That is why there are people to take measures.
"In my sending off Neymar was offside beforehand and I didn't touch him. He was looking for contact. If they wanted to balance the league table, they've done it."

Was howling at your previous post willy! It's great to see you on fine form as always! Yep it was a cracker in a very much needed win! 8-} <:-P
Here, people will tune in to watch Cardiff V Everton. Why? Because on their day any team can beat any other team. In Spain it seems, nobody gives a monkeys about Ossasuna V Real Betis.
It's very reminiscent of the SPL with Celtic & Rangers. (At least until Rangers were demoted).

Every country has its Real-Barcelona and they tend to get more attention.
Watching the EPL every week on match of the day or on cableshow in NL they tend to give the bigger clubs more time as well, so that is really similar I guess.
In the Dutch competition they show every team as well, and of course teh bigger names get more attention as ell.
I have never watched a Spanish football show but I am sure it is fairly similar.
I like watching the smaller games as well as there are different interests of regional competition that matter.
But honestly when there is a match with two of Europes major teams is shown and the change at great football is rather big. as a fan you should be watching for the sheer excitement of a great game. And that does not make Cardiff vs Everton any less, even if the quality between the matches would be fairly obvious.
I watch many games internationaly as well as nationaly and as a football fan I can tell you there is plenty of great football. And as a non-fan of Zlatan I. even I must admit that his playing for PSG is sometimes bloody great stuff to watch.
And there is nothing wrong with the British competition but there is more football to be savoured.
Fair enough. But that doesn't explain why a self acclaimed footbal crazy people don't tune in for the biggest clash the sport has to offer. I don't think you guys know what you're missing!
The Norwegian league (which I know quite well for obvious reasons) is even more unpredictable than BPL btw. I guess you should take a look at that, if unpredictability is your thing. ;) Teams literally go from title challengers one year, to fighting relegation the next!

Yes, I know, I know, I know...
I just don't find this topic particularly interesting. Real Madrid have been whining for years. I used to get offended or annoyed, but i don't bother anymore. It's a tiresome scenario. Let them whine!
Under Mourinho they were even sore winners and terrible losers.
As it is nothing really changes when it comes to Mourinho.
And I'm all for that. It's the unpredictability of sport which makes it exciting to watch. No matter how good Barca and Madrid are (and I'm not denying that), when you have a league where one of those two teams ultimately win, it becomes very boring to watch. Granted, Athletico are having a great season and could upset the apple cart but it remains to be seen if they have the staying power.
It's why I welcomed the challenge of Man City in recent years, and this season Liverpool, because it makes the challenge for the title so much more exciting to watch. There are still four teams who have a chance of winning. Even Everton and Tottenham have an outside chance of making top four (albeit a very slim one).
If madrid whine when they lose to barca it spoils the el classico ..........or el whingico :)
In deed!
Whether he calls himself "The special one" or "The happy one", he's nevertheless an old prick.
This isn't a response to El Classico, it was a response to you and your mate up there, who assume all the English, not Brits, Scotland have their own league, have no interest in anything other than the English game. I've seen club and international football all over Europe. I've seen Barca, Hertha, Lyon, Parma, Den Haag in their own leagues and numerous United away games in the CL. I saw United at home during the late nineties, I now watch Palace and AFC Wimbledon since moving to London and get back for the reds when I can. I've seen the odd Oldham game, a couple of Macc Town, Villa, Spurs, Coventry, Sheff Utd and Weds, Derby, Fulham and Hull. I have an accumulator on, one fixture in each of the Spanish, English, German, Italian, French and Dutch leagues, each weekend. So, yes, I have an interest in football and I have a decent knowledge of European and Japanese football.
The English game goes beyond one decent match-up a season.
Now that's the spirit, bro!
Tots units fem forca!
:-bd
Not my mate actually as we talked firstly in this thread called "the back of the net" on an international forum, so logically one would assume that the football discussed would be some of that too.
And as much as you also enjoy the odd international game, any time the football discussion is about anything else but English football the participation has been lets say rather minimal.
I tend to watch a lot outside of my national competition, and for extra ordinary games I tend to make time and El Classico is such a match. And yes one of the bigger matches in Europe warrants some attention, and the response that "the British Game" is the best does make little sense. Nobody said anything about the British football up to that point, you and your mates came up with that idea.
And through my experience watch the various games in various countries, but perhaps most in England there seems to be little interest in foreign football out of perhaps chauvinistic reasons.
But England and I wager the Dutch will play a little role in the upcoming WC in Brazil, while the Spanish, Germans, Portuguese, Brazil, Chili & Argentine teams will be so the ones to beat.
And to be honest I care little as long as we get some great games, I'll watch them.
I like football but not just my own countries competitions and the comparisons generally leave me cold. Because most countries have had a great history when it comes to football and their various ups and downs make it watching worthwhile. I see it more often as the modern games and bread for the citizens.
When I look for civilisation among the supporters I will watch for that during my daughters hockeygames. Which I coach one of for the simple reason that me giving attention to their sport is giving them attention and they do allow me to watch football as compensation. ;)
"You should know by now that the British are not concerned about other competitions besides the one they compete in, because they have the best competition in the world that is according the Brits."
As someone as schooled in football as yourself, you should have realised it's the Scots or the English. There is no 'British' game. But maybe you don't pay as much attention as you claim. My rousing defence of the 'English' game was purely me iterating why some fans may not care. Why go out for a burger, when you've got steak at home.
My apologies the English football supporters, the Scottish do have another idea about the English league. ;)
There we might have to disagree calling the Real Madrid- Barcelona game a burger and English footbal matches steak is a bit chauvinistic, and I am then a wee bit mild.
You can be a fan of The English game but you cannot deny that there are matches worth watching due to its sheer quality that are played in other competitions. You can deny that but then you are not much a fan of football but only fan of Englsih football.
Us Dutch have a dislike of Germans, allthough that changes for the better with each generation, but we do enjoy the work of Bayern Munchen or Durtmund for that matter as they do play beautifull football. Munchen will probably be the German Champion tommorrow, as they are even way too good for their own league.
I don't think Norwich will go down. Too many poor teams below them. You'll soon be able to breathe a sigh of relief :-)
On another note, Real lost again last night. Their title aspirations are in danger of going the way of Arsenal.
And on that point, just a couple of weeks ago Arsenal were top of the league. Now their fourth and Wenger is now talking of competing for 4th place with Everton. Oh dear, oh dear. I don't know how their fans cope with it all. They pay highest season tickets in Europe and all for 4th place.
The irony would be that they win the FA Cup this season but finish 5th. Wouldn't be surprised to see Wenger walk away if that happens.
