    Players that rely on pace often have shorter careers unless they can adapt there game, Giggs is a great example of extending a career as he transformed himself from a great winger to a very good central midfielder in his latter years.

    That's where Michael Owen fell short, once his pace had gone he didn't have much left.

    Agree at his explosive best Owen was unstoppable though once his hamstrings started giving him issues and further issues it was all down hill.

    Very true, though I didn't expect Robben to retire that early. Looks like he missed football too much!

    Incorrect penalty decisions were made by the video assistant referee in all three of Thursday's games, the Premier League has told BBC Match of the Day.

    Bruno Fernandes won a spot-kick which he scored in Manchester United's 3-0 win over Aston Villa.

    James Ward-Prowse hit the bar after a disputed penalty as Southampton drew 1-1 with Everton.

    And Tottenham should have had a penalty for a Joshua King shove on Harry Kane in a 0-0 draw with Bournemouth.

    The Premier League confirmed United and Southampton should not have been given penalties, but Tottenham should have been awarded one.

    How can they make so many mistakes, over and over again? :-?

    VAR is only supposed to be used when there is a clear and obvious error, so in theory VAR should pretty much never make mistakes ...

    VAR is only supposed to be used when there is a clear and obvious error, so in theory VAR should pretty much never make mistakes ...

    The Premier League summer transfer window will be open from July 27 until October 5, followed by a domestic-only window from October 5-16.

    FIFA have confirmed the schedule for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with the opening game at 10am on Monday, November 21 and four matches per day during the group stage.

    Kick-off times for the first two rounds of matches will be at 10am, 1pm, 4pm and 7pm (UK times). Kick-off times in the final round of group games and knock-out round matches will be at 3pm and 7pm (UK times)

    Five substitutes to be allowed for 2020-21 season. Each competition will be free to decide whether they want to use the additional substitutes next season.

    Alexander-Arnold only got a yellow for this challenge. Nketiah got a red after VAR review for a similar challenge only a couple of games ago. Must be different sets of rules depending on which team the player plays for.
