Good result for Villa, the unpredictable results continue Watkins appears to be a genuine talent... good for England.

Was he tackled by pickford ?

I wasn't aware of his previous misdemeanours until i did a "pickford tackle" search.

Quite nice to see Scotland back at the big stage. I remember rooting for them at that 1998 World Cup opener against Brazil where they were unlucky to narrowly lose with an own-goal. Good to have them back.

Norwegian authorities denies the national team to travel abroad to play Nation League games after Omar Elabdellaoue tests positive for Covid-19, with the team instead now in quarantine. This means that the games against Romania and Austria are cancelled*, placing them last in the group (which will see the national side playing in Nations League C, when they could have competed for a spot in NL A instead).

*The Norwegian Football Federation are now exploring the possibilities of sending an "emergency team", as the newspaper VG put it, in order for the game against Austria to be played.

That's bad luck for Norway. Do you live in Norway ?

Sergio Ramos had two penalties saved in his 177th game for Spain - the record for most international caps by a European player

Spain might need a new pen taker ??

San Marino managed for the first time in their 150-game history to avoid defeat in consecutive games after they drew 0-0 to Gibraltar yesterday.

Yes, I do. And it's a sensible decision in my view. There's enough traveling with club football. Throwing international games on top of it only increases the chances of new positive tests to happen.

Ramos seems to take a lot of pens for spain and rm so he must be their regular.

Imagine Ramos penalty duties might be in question after missing those pens!

They really need to sort out the handball rules. The way things are right now, it leads to too much inconsistency in penalty decisions, which is so frustrating to see.

I live in melbourne and i hate it. There are times when it's 4 seasons in a day and the winters last forever so there are better cities to live in like sydney, brisbane and perth imo.

And there a lot of social issues here.

Unreal! This was arguably not even Spain's best side...

Might be time for Joachim Löw to step aside. All great runs come to an end...

Four seasons in a day seems very much the same as the region I live in too, haha! Melbourne looks really nice though.

Too bad about the social issues, but that's unfortunately a problem in any country…

    _______

Norway's makeshift national side managed a 1-1 draw against Austria, finishing second in the group, after the regular team were unable to travel for their games against Romania and Austria. Austria only got the equalizer three minutes into added time, so the "emergency team" got very close to a great result.

    Paper Talk
Virgil van Dijk has begun light recovery training, news which provides a key boost to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

David Luiz was involved in a physical altercation with his Arsenal team-mate Dani Ceballos in training during the international break.

Liverpool have been handed a huge boost ahead of their clash with Leicester this weekend - after Andy Robertson and Fabinho stepped up their preparations in training.

Olivier Giroud's agent has called the decision to play Tammy Abraham ahead of the Frenchman "unfair" and warned they will seek pastures new if things don't change at Chelsea.

Romelu Lukaku was "unfairly blamed" during his time at Manchester United, claims Roberto Martinez.

Barcelona are reportedly planning to offload up to six players in the upcoming January transfer window.

Football agents are expecting an incredibly quiet January transfer window.

Nigerian billionaire Orji Kalu has declared his intention to buy a huge 35 per cent stake in Arsenal.

Arsenal 'have agreed' the January signing of Omar Rekik from Hertha Berlin, reports claim.

Chelsea misfit Olivier Giroud is reportedly eyeing a January exit.

West Ham outcast Felipe Anderson could make an early return to the club - but only if Porto land Brazilian cult hero Hulk first, reports say.

Indeed, I think this game might be very crucial to Arsenal's season. The gap to Sp*rs is getting significant already.

I'd be surprised if they don't.

Arsenal have hardly been able to do anything before the red card too, and you do have to question Arteta's team selection as much as the performances of those on the pitch. No way Arsenal will be able to keep up with the rest.

I have not watched Arsenal much this season, though heard some say Arteta is too defensive and not getting the best out of Aubameyang
