However, even if I made a post to explain the limit of taking into account the inflation (see my comment about LALD), I feel that on this list, to see the A-Team above LTK, or to see Indiana Jones behind QOS, or DAD above the first Batman, etc, does not feel right.
Can you give me the real figures of Michel Vaillaint? Total world wide gross? I cannot find them...
Also despite being a film with the hero's name, it's not really comparable to 007. It's for race car fetichists, one would say.
Well now I want to watch it.
Can PLEASE someone give me the total gross of Michel Vaillant :-P? By the way, looking at the official comic book website of Vaillant http://www.michelvaillant.com/ makes me think this could be turned into one hell of a movie franchise. Why is MGM not picking this up? Or Warner Brothers, Sony Pictures, Paramount....
I see what you did there :D
The only indication I found is an interview quoted in some comment on the Internet, according to which Besson said that thanks to the foreign markets and the DVDs, Europacorp made 2.5M$ of profit from its 25M$ budget... Ok, you can call that a flop :)
Skyfall (2012) $17,000,000 plus bonuses for certain box-office milestones.
I wonder how much tax he has to pay on this?
Less than half a million between them. There's actually a chance that when the actuals come in, Skyfall could actually be number one o.O this shows how fickle the Twilight audience are, all 14 year old girls who went opening weekend. Skyfall has had a much broader appeal. Do you guys think that without any new releases next weekend, Twilight will drop behind Bond?
Furthermore, I have updated the list in such a way now, so that you can also use it as a 'watchlist'. Movies with a '▪' are part of a spy/actionhero movie franchise. Movies with a '▫' are rebooted movies or remakes. Movies with a '∞' are based on previous tv-series.
It is interesting to see what has happened through the years after James Bond found its way to cinema audiences. TV-series were created, like 'Mission: Impossible', 'Get Smart', 'Starsky & Hutch', 'The A-Team', 'I Spy', that were later turned into movies again. These series usually had a similar premise to the James Bond films: Save the world from crazy figures.
Later movies, like the rebooted Batman films, were hugely influenced by James Bond, to such an extend that the actual superhero looked, walked, drove....lived like a possible James Bond. Summarizing: James Bond is one hell of an inspiring person ;-).
And with 'Skyfall', James Bond keeps inspiring and stays the biggest spy franchise of the planet. Next step? How close towards $ 1 billion will 'Skyfall' get? Samuel001? Where is your List of inflation adjusted Bond films ;-)? *UPDATED SUNDAY DECEMBER 2ND 2012*:

Bond may overtake Twilight for no.1 next weekend as there is only one wide release in playing for keeps it wil only open to around $5 to $7 mil next weekend. Next weekend twilight will be downs about 50% to around to $9 mil it's holding up better then the previous twilight film.Bond will hold better dropping say 40% to 45% for around 9.5 to 10 mil next weekend beating twilight. Although there is a chance Lincoln could expand next weekend and take no 1 as it is a great film Oscar worthy about one of Americas greatest political leaders and has proven very popular so far with small drops despite a some what limited release with $83 mil so far.The first two weekend of December are the calm before the storm and we all no what that storm is lol.
My predictions for next weekend US
1. Skyfall- $10 mil
2. Twilight-$9.2 mil
3. Lincoln $ 9 mil if it expands to a few hundred more theatres it will win next weekend
"MGM and Sony's Skyfall continued to impress, grossed $17 million in its fourth weekend for a North American cume of $246 million. Overseas, it earned another $34 million for an international cume of $623 million and worldwide total of $869 million."
Just saw that one, too. How/where did the $52 million come from in the past few hours?
$52 mil came from overseas market its from Monday to Sunday as mid week Overseas numbers are not tracked just added with weekend numbers.
How much did it made this week $85 mil?
78.9 Million from my number last weekend. Check the original post for a list of the weekends.
