Alright, in this thread you will nominate who you think is the most controversial on this site. It may be hard for some, yet very easy for others.

For me, it can only be @007RogerMoore. Only here a little short of a month, and yet he has made me face palm time and time again. His opinions and views on film in that of itself boils my blood. He doesn't like serious films of any kind, and wants lasers in as many things as possible. Many will say, why aren't you nominating @DaltonCraig007? Well folks, it is easy. One, I have come to know and expect it from him, and he has fantastic taste in all genres of film, not hating on a film's dramatic complexity.

And how could I forget the thorn in both my side and a vast majority of others, @shadowonthesun. Good riddance.

So we are basically saying who is the most,- and how do we put this even?

Belligerent?, Annoying?, Confusing?, Rude?, Bizarre? etc, not sure what areas it covers

Furthermore something like this was brought to the fore last year and Admin said 'It may not be a good idea' as it can only get out of hand or 'people may take it the wrong way and problems could arise and tempers flare' etc, I'm sure I remember something said at the time

I.e. say 007RogerMoore is all that you say, Mr 007RogerMoore sees this, takes umbrage and events could spiral out of control and before you know it, it could well become a closed thread in the end

It's all very well giving out honors and recognition but a different game when we discuss the negative aspects of any participants and the responses from those involved that maybe could get out of hand eventually

I hope you understand what I'm getting at, I just thought it may be relevant

I'd maybe nominate myself for this and it has nothing to do with the above, I just feel I can be disagreeable at times, not so much controversial, but there is usually a difference of opinion more often than not, but after all, that's what these forums are here for, it will never change no matter where you go on things like these

I see what you mean, but no one should take this as serious. At the end of the day we are all Bond fans and love the character and his films/novels/games; etc. This is all in jest, and all leg pulling. Besides, if you take the opinions of others seriously and get worked up over it you have bigger problems than self esteem issues. @007RogerMoore knows that I am just playing with him, and I mean no harm in speaking my mind. He knows how I feel, he knows I don't mean he is bat crazy, and we are all entertained by the discussions we have on here. Controversial may seem like a negative term, but it is sometimes better to be noticed that to appear invisible. Once again, this is all in fun.

I AM SO ANGRY NOW!!! Just kidding, these nominations are just for fun and this one is no exception. So no problems.

And bring back the lasers! ;)

Obviously @M_Balje gets this vote. Genius or... genius? Whew, since I started visiting the forum, first as a modest visitor from 2002/3 onwards, then as a member (since 2005), I noticed the enthusiasm with which Balje posted material that even the most creative screenwriters in the world couldn't have come up with. My controversy vote goes to this brave lad.

I vividly remember Trice - what ever happened to him? He was crazy...

What happened to shadow? I used to enjoy reading the arguments he had with everyone, hahaha.

    Anyway, I nominate @007RogerMoore too.

M_Balje. It can be because he's dutch, but that cat has some strange ideas that make me both smile, or roll my eyes and / or facepalm.

Nope, that has nothing to do with his Dutchness.. I once PM'd him in Dutch and he's just the same, including his....creative way of using the language. M_Balje indeed gets my vote.
There are others though who at least were controversial:
    Charles_Vine
Erica Ambler (who got hit on by so many newbees as they thought he actually was a woman)
    You only live Thrice
And one bloke who came back under so many different names it was quite hard to keep track off.

What did @Charles_Vine do? He seems popular.

You think I hate Craig as Bond ? Charles_Vine hates him 10 times worse.

Well I know you like him outside of Bond, but did @Charles_Vine just hate him all around?

You were thinking of Scashy no doubt. Never saw a bigger Moore fan than him on this board. If his name comes up for nomination, there's my vote.

    Thrice was pretty controversial too.

Vine's posts were so stupid that I skipped over them.

He hates him as Bond. And he was very vocal that CR would be flop at the box office... then he held the same theory for QOS that it would flop...... after QOS, he said in last resort that in 15 years, people would finally see that Craig's tenure was horrible, appalling, abysmal.........

  • @DC007- One of several good examples why I skipped his posts. His statements showed he was and is completely clueless.

Ah, but Vimes wasn't stupid, he's an increadably knowledgeable man, just more redneck then Sherriff J.W. Pepper from LALD, and more conservative and Republican too. He could've been in a movie, but people would think he'd overdone it.

I'd like to say Balje too, but frankly he's our Klaus Hergesheimer - he's such a legend around here (who doesn't love him?) that I don't think you could actually claim he's that controversial... ;)

true, he's our homegrown oracle. But Scashy was, and both Ambler and Vimes had staunch supporters and enemies

@DaltonCraig007 gets my vote. I love it when people disagree with me, though. Always respect another opinion, even if it's wrong. ;)

Please. I do not. I have my beliefs, but they are honest. I have explained my position over and over.

I have prefer more of a literary Bond movie tied into the story and scripting aspects of the Bond genre rather than making the Bond movie whatever the current trend is in movie making.

He's got nothing on @Matt_Helm when it comes to troublemaking. Weren't these already decided last year? Hmmmm. It seems time for the 2nd annual awards to commence. Maybe I'll even win one this time around :)

I was going to mention Helm but I figured him to be far more annoying than controversial ;-)

Exactly :D I respect @Perdogg even if I don't agree with him often, I can't say the same thing about the other fella. But I my vote goes to the genious @M_Balje.

To be honest, ladies and gents, I don't think this open trashing of one another is exactly the best way to handle this. If the MI6 Community Awards ever return to this forum, I say we throw out categories like this. We had categories when I ran it like biggest Craig hater and things like that, and all it did was create a negative and contentious atmosphere instead of a fun and positive one. Just my thoughts on the matter.
  • @Brady- that would seem like the fan friendly solution. Are you going to reprise it?
