    SPECTRE questions.

    SPECTRE meeting in Rome.

What is the lady talking about with the "160,000" females in the leisure sector?

What is meaning of the discussion about vaccines?

It seemed fairly straightforward to me.

SPECTRE is responsible for trafficking 160,00 girls into prostitution and knocked out some dodgy vaccines which didn't do the job.

Would've been a nice touch for me a la the Great Train Robbery reference in TB if they had mentioned 'our consultation fee to FIFA for the World Cup going to Qatar'.

A cameo by Blatter sitting round the SPECTRE table would've been priceless!

Did anyone else besides me get a The Third Man vibe off that part?

    Good spot Sir!

One of the all time great scenes - 'Free of income tax old man. Free of income tax!'

Had Roger Moore been able to take over Bond from Connery after YOLT, would OHMSS been successful? Would Moore stay on as Bond from OHMSS all the way to AVTAK? Would Moore be 1 and done Connery be brought back? Then who would be Bond after?

I'll let you know when I've returned from the parallel universe in which this actually happened. ;-)

I just assumed he was referring to him as a cunt.

Well clearly this is what he's alluding to and also M later but for that gag to work it also needs to mean sonething else.
Denbigh was working for the CNS. Centre for National Security.

So C stands for 'centre'? In any event I don't think M mentions CNS in that meeting with Bond, it's only later we hear about that.

My initial thought; Bond called him "C" because he's the head of "CNS", indirectly telling Denbigh that "M" was called "M" because he's the head of "MI6", thereby using some misdirection to throw Denbigh off M's identity as a precaution because who the hell is this Denbigh guy, anyway.

    /overthinking it

    I don't get this either.

I don't know the film's script verbatim but I do recall M mentioning the arrival Denbeigh before he enters, I believe he refers to him as the head of the "Combined Intelligence Agency". Therefore "C" is a reference to "Combined". Though I may be wrong here.

The other alternative (and likely the correct answer) is that the title of "C" is given to the head of MI5. Though this is never explained in the film.

Listening to one of the DVD/BluRay audio commentaries of Goldfinger, it's told the 'headcanon' Lois Maxwell had for Bond and Moneypenny constantly teasing each other sexually: they entered the MI6 almost at the same time, felt mutual attraction, spent a crazy weekend together but decided not to go further in their relationship because of professional reasons.

I was wondering... Anyone thinks that maybe some of Maxwell's ideas, maybe as a tribute, were captured on the screenplay of Skyfall, being the only time Bond and Moneypenny have had actual sexual intercourse, taking into consideration that Eve was then a rookie field operative?

    Lois was something else.

Watching SF recently, as the Macau scene starts up and Bond and MP share a flirty dialogue it can in fact be implied that they had sex after she gave him a shave, but it's never certain one way or another. The interpretation can definitely be made, though, and I remember a lot of us were debating that after the film was released.

This is interesting. I guess Mendes wanted to retain the old magic between Bond and 'Penny: the apartment scene in Spectre, is, again, Sam teasing us.

Yes, definitely. I love the look on her face when Bond actually invites her to his place.

    SPECTRE question !

Does anyone know where to get the James Bond theme from the end of the movie? I know it's not the regular theme and it's different from the previous Craig films.

    @CASINOROYALE.
It's a partial Newman cue with David Arnold's CR Bond theme added in.

In the TND pts, Bond flies out of a gigantic fireball. Why didn t his plane fall down? There was lterally no oxygen there for the combustion engine to work.

As long there is still oxygen in the cockpit the engines works off of that by taking it in as an amergency supply and this is why Brosnan didn't compleeltly kill the backseat driver, he left him unconcious so he would continue to push oxygen to the back of the plane with his dying breaths and Bond is clever like that enough to blast past it all and make it happen and excape fireballs and wake up to another glass of champagne and delux breakfast.

    I can buy that, too.

Also the t-force of the fireball was at least five times faster than Bond's pilot jet, so it would have pushed him forwards that's why we see Bond's chin double as the plane accelareates it gives him a fiery facelift and some of the fire gets stuck in the engine and fired it up even faster, you could almost say that was the plan all along as Bond even has a helmet on, it's one of the best PTSs of the series, including this moment.

Except of course a person exhales CO2 but don't let physics get in the way of your stupid hypotheses.

Was Pierce Brosnan the only actor to be accepted as James Bond before any of his movies came out? From what I read the media and fans accepted Brosnan as Bond even before GE started filming and if you look that the history of the other actors I think it's fair to say this.

Sean Connery- wasn't accepted until Goldfinger
George - wasn't accepted at all
Roger Moore- wasn't really accepted until TSWLM
Dalton - wasn't accepted at all
Daniel Craig - wasn't accepted until CR came out

So do you think this is true?

In the UK, Ireland, and Northern Ireland, is it more common to hear "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Christmas"?

Since I always look into GE way too much, here's a question:

I always wondered who doubles for Admiral Farrell when Xenia goes to steal the Tiger helicopter; I figured it was obviously Ourumov, since he arrives with her, but their clothes are different so it's obvious that they stopped somewhere, changed, and the Severnaya attack obviously doesn't happen the same day as the theft of the Tiger helicopter. Later on, when Bond goes to meet Janus, Xenia shows up, and in the midst of the struggle, a goon walks in that Bond knocks out. He has a beard similar to Farrell's and it seems that he has the same kind of facial features, so is it possible that this is the man posing as Farrell earlier on in the movie? Or am I slowly going crazy and looking into things too much?

This is also true. I'm definitely looking into it way too much.

I'm more interested in how no-one noticed one of the pilots walking towards the helicopter had strangely transformed into a woman. ;)
