Has anyone noticed the number on the table Bond is seating at in Dr. No at the casino? A reference to the Casino Royale novel, where it was the same number that was picked for Bond on the Baccarat table.

Well spotted - could be! :)

Can't remember if I've asked this before. What do the words "Lbumyeets" and "Buliatch" translate to when Xenia mutters them in GE?

    Found these online, @jake24:
'Buliatch!' (Cyrillic Блядь! meaning Crap! or Damn! )
    'Lbumyeets' (Cyrillic Любимый meaning Darling)

When I was younger, I had no idea she was yelling "Buliatch!", so I just assumed she was mad at losing and screamed "Bitch!" at the cards.

I hate to be smug and all, but I always knew it was Russian.

Haven't noticed this before until today, but does Bond really drop a tear for Mathis as he throws him in the trash can?

Yes, there were only five quids in his wallet.

Why does the boat blow up when Bond dispatches of Adam in LALD? I mean, Bond throws oil/fuel on him, but what causes it to ignite in such an explosive fashion?

Because who doesn't love a good explosion wrapping up an action sequence?! In all seriousness, I'd assume with all of the oil on him and the boat, and the speed at which he crashes into the other ship, set off a reaction somehow that led to the explosion. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but oh well. It's like all the cars in movies that immediately detonate once the gas tank is shot: it wouldn't really happen, but it's a damn cool way to dispatch a foe.

Same reason as to why the car for The Three Blind Mice in Dr. No explodes. They were on their way to a funeral so... Why not make a dramatic big entrance? :))

Ah GoldenEye 007, so many memories. I loved finding that secret area in the Archives level and hiding from the guards.

Another favourite was running straight through the facility, and instead of placing the mines on the tanks, hiding in that little room on the opposite side from the entrance and seeing how long you could last against the endless waves of enemies!

Then of course there was the multiplayer...

And Goldfinger, too, at Auric Enterprises.

Maybe cars were more volatile in the old days ? ;)

Yes I thought it a bit contrived as well, but as @Birdleson explains it does make some sense at least as opposed to some of the car explosions that have been pointed out.

If you want to point at things that blow up without reason far more gratingly...

All the Bond baddies must be In the Leave the EU camp, as they wouldn't want these
    Health and safety regulations. :)

Didn't the compound run off fuel cells in QoS? It's not a stretch to believe that it'll blow up and burn nicely when destroyed.
