Fair enough!

All 'small' Bond movies, all limited in overall scope but big on character.
Brosnan was great at the smooth & dashing Bond, and Craig is great at the tough & troubled Bond, but IMHO the days of the occasional 'small' non-event-driven Bonds are over.
That said, and on topic, for BIG Bonds, TND was awesome, and SP looks to easily be its equal.
I love both Pierce & Dan.
FIrst of all, I posted in the intro section right after this, something I had not seen when I signed up. Secondly, this was bound to come up sooner or later and that's my opinion in a nutshell (I'm surely going to expand it over time). Maybe my use of the word "awful" rubbed you the wrong way, but I literally cannot watch his final three movies ever again, just can't stomach it man I think they were that bad. I'm not on here to just bash the Brosnan and Moore eras but I have a very strong opinions about those eras and I won't hide it when it comes up.
Sounds like our old "friend" Ml94
Second. GE had potential (hell, even the very beginning of DAD did!), and I think over the years they could have given Brosnan more of an opportunity to show off his acting skills. People say he is a much better actor than the Bond films allow him to show. I wouldn't know, but in any case it's a shame that the producers decided at the time that emotional depth wasnt what Bond needed.
Pierce definitely bought Bond back to a wider audience, Babs & MGW had just taken over after having had Cubby run the show and they needed to make sure they could deliver.
I'm under no illusions that Pierce's run allowed us to get to the Craig era, it needed to be pushed to the level DAD got to, to bring it back to earth again. DAD painted them into a corner and repositioning CR into a veteran Bond story would not have been the way to go.
Craig was a gamble for them but one that paid of spectacularly, his take on the character is likely to influence the next Bond and we won't be going back to the Brosnan or Moore model for sometime yet. The next actor will want more of what Craig is doing. Actors who wouldn't have though of playing the role will have a different view now and that is all down to Daniel Craig.
Daniel Craig does not play James Bond.He just plays an unlikeable low life thug.
I have to agree to disagree on DC I am afraid. I think he is fantastic in the part.
Come up with new material.
I always thought this scene and the scene with Dr Kaufman in TND were 2 of the best sequences in all of the Brosnan films.
If I was going for Brosnan best scene bearing in mind I don't like any of his films, it would be the banker scene from TWINE, pity we get that ridiculous Thames boat chase after, just the that on it's own would have made for a great PTS full stop!
I have always enjoyed Brosnan as BOND. I think he was let down by poor material after TND. Those 2 scenes i mentioned above are for me the highlights of the Brosnan era and some of the best moments in the franchise. Forget all the machine gun action this is where I thought Brosnan was best. He should have pushed for better material. TND is one of my favourite Bond films. I rate it quite highly. Its the best Brosnan film in my opinion. Much better than GE. Brosnan got a raw deal. TWINE was dull and the action was boring. DAD was just a middle finger to the franchise from the director. For that I blame the directors not Brosnan.
Although my favourite film of his is Goldeneye, definitely.
So true. That was a good scene.
Well my opinion which i am entitled to is that he is not a good Bond AT ALL.You think hes great and thats cool.
I can respect Casino Royale as a well made action film despite my dislike of Craig in the role.
However, its been downhill since then.QOS and SF were terrible films in my opinion.
Sacrilege. #-o
This for me was the highlight of the whole Brosnan era too. Then immediately into the Maria-Conchito-Alonso-lookalike chase killed it.
Also would prefer Craig and QOS hate confuses me, it was better than Skyfall.
