A dangerous mountain bike chase down a mountain, bond being pursued and obstructed by multiple henchman, battling against upward drafts, lethal almost vertical rock face drop's, dense woodland, water hazards, mud slides and changing weather systems during the mountain decent. Henchman defying gravity with the upward drafts, then being slammed back into the mountain side, and crashing to a roaring ocean below. As the chase progresses a fierce storm approaches upping the the tension. Bond has to use all his skill and ingenuity to survive this chase. The scene could be set up in a similar vein to the ski chase sequence from FYEO.

You gave me mindgasms just thinking about it.

It'd be cool to see Bond out on *sport* when he's really on surveillance riding his mountain bike. Suddenly a band of four-wheelers pursues and we have a cliff-side chase! The establishing (opening) shot showed a storm rolling in the background as Bond gazed at the enemy facility just before the chase. After the four-wheelers begin their pursuit a heavy downpour ensues. Right at the finale of the chase a huge mudslide takes out the last of the guards over the cliff, along with Bond, and he is forced to put his naval training to the test w/ a record breaking dive as he's pushed over the edge. He swims across the ocean channel to the other side, and casually strolls onto the street, garnering odd looks from the passerby's.

    Ahhhhhhhh.

*Edit: The world record for highest dive is some 175 feet. Bond can beat that.

I was even going to suggest a Hall Of Mirrors finale a la Enter the Dragon, but it's been vaguely done before in Golden Gun, coincidentally around the same time

But I wanted Bond fighting like Bruce Lee, I don't mean martial arts, just some fighting techniques and for main Bond adversary to be impaled on a giant spear on a revolving door like in the movie or something

But I heard they were scaling back on the violence next time out, so maybe we should scrub that idea

Funny story about that scene in Enter The Dragon is that Bruce Lee did not like it. He didn't want that scene in the movie.

Cheers mate, was trying to think of a vehicle Bond has never used or sporting event that we have never seen bond involved in. Plus i enjoy mountain biking though i Just stick to less treacherous routes Lol

@JWESTBROOK i think breaking world records is a must when it comes to Bond action sequences :) I wonder how many world records have been set over the course of the movie's.

I like the idea of a fair bit of a Bond movie taking place on a luxury Cruise liner. Maybe the most luxurious liner in the world. We got a tiny section at the end of DAF but they could make use of beautiful resturants, casinos, swimming pools and a chase/fight onboard the ship.

A giant maze would also be good idea, similar in some ways to the FRWL PTS with hedges and dark corners to stalk.

Been a while since i watched this movie though Dragons Forever had a scene where jackie chan was fighting bad guys and being chased on a large boat or yacht. Can Just see bond jumping through port holes to lower decks to avoid assassins.

Really??? I thought it was one of the best scenes in the film, I'm suprised Lee didn't want it. I'm glad it stayed in.

@thelivingroyale yeah Lee was skeptical about that scene even while filming that scene. I don't know if he liked it in the final print. Even I think that there could not have been a more suitable ending to the movie.

We could get Celine Dion to sing the title song.

And the plot could revolve around a huge blue ruby. Bond will sink the ship, with thousands on it, in an attempt to prevent the bad guy Americans from getting it. MI6 will cover it up as an collision of some sort.

I'm pretty sure the Queen would never go on a cruise liner after seeing that.

By the way, this is the best one I have thought of yet:

Background-USA gets a tip from its African ally, let's say Egypt, about an active extremist network powered by USA and England's common enemy, Iraq , so USA asks for MI6's help to bust the network. Bond goes to Iraq following the trails (please ignore the name saddam as earlier when I mentioned hitler, the mods closed the discussion) and comes to know that Iraq is planning an air attack by ready to deploy the F-16s on Egypt(only a story guys).

The Sequence- So with a very less time on hand, Bond informs M and kills one of the F-16's Pilot and gets into one of the F-16s with other pilots unaware of this fact. Now we have a supersonic Dogfight (which we have never seen before) between Bond and the three other F-16s!

    PS-Am I a damn good story writer/prospective director? :P

@mod- I intentionally kept the two posts separate.

That's very interesting. It may have to happen sometime down the line. The issue is Iraq is still in a weak state of government, and will be for some time. Their military is still relatively weak.

Now please understand this. The current government in Iraq is *allied* with the US and Britain, for its the one they put in place. The enemy in Iraq that sparked the Second Gulf War is dead, and all remnants purged from the government.

If you substituted Iraq for say... Syria... or Suadi Arabia, it'd be far more likely. You don't have to be enemies to use your spies ;)

@JWESTBOOK yes the current Iraqi government is a US ally for sure! I included Iraq as Iraq's air force does have the F-16s and I'm not sure about Syria and Saudi Arabia. And to be enemy is important here as only an enemy would engage in an official air-attack with England and its allies.

So what we can imagine is maybe after 20 years from now, when the Iraq government is free from US control, it turned against the US.

Thanks for making it better though :)

And have Bond and a lovely lass run away from the villain and sneak into a steamy car for a while... ;)

In all seriousness, a small section of the film on a luxury liner would be decent in my opinion. You could use some stunning sets.

Alright @slyfox, I've given it some thought:

Somewhere in the middle of a new James Bond adventure titled The Silver Phantom*...

Bond tails an extremely wealthy oil sheikh and his henchmen (the main henchman called Tekh) onto a civilian luxury cruise liner. Bond's interest in the sheikh is based on intelligence (we got from the PTS of Bond in the mid-east) that the sheikh has the geographic coordinates to a downed top-secret aircraft that had been shot down over the sheikh's country (we learn about the downed aircraft in the PTS, which is why Bond is there to investigate).

Bond is soon sniffed out. After an intense and brutal tussle in the sheikh's room Bond has with one of his guards, while snooping, the sheikh decides to unboard the ship mid-voyage via helicopter the next day. As Bond manages to stay undetected by the Sheikh's henchman the next day, he follows them up to the helipad deck of the ship. As Bond watches the sheikh board the helicopter from a higher deck, he notices the henchman Tekh is staying on-board.

Suspicious, Bond keeps his eyes peeled. As soon as the helicopter begins to take flight, Tekh attacks his fellow guards, grabs a pistol off of one of their bodies, and shoots at the helicopter. He hits the hydraulic fluid in the tail, causing the rear blade to fail and the helicopter to spin uncontrollably. It seems Tekh has plans of his own to sell the location and plans of the aircraft.

The helicopter flings through the air, and drastically drops towards the ocean. Bond, shocked, jumps back and watches in horror at what unfolds. The helicopter spins and dives, exploding into the side of the cruise liner. The entire ship lurches from the impact and explosion, and immediately warning sirens are heard.

Quick on his feet, Bond rushes down the stairs, now flooded with life-vested passengers frantically trying to get to the life boats. Knowing that Tekh must be going back for something, Bond heads deeper into the ship towards the sheikh's apartment. But, before he can get there, Bond and Tekh cross paths in the main stair hall (pictured above). Bond, on a higher level, jumps down two stories and lands on Tekh, the laptop in his hands sliding feet away. Tekh pulls his gun, but Bond knocks it out just before the ship lurches on its side.

As Bond and Tekh roll wresting along the grand floor, the ship careens back and the gun slides accross the floor. Bond reaches out for it, but just misses grabbing it. He lurches and slides accross the floor after the handgun. As soon as he feels that cold metal relief in his hands, he stands and turns only to face a 230lb Tekh flying at him full force. Tekh swings the computer case straight accross Bond head, knocking him out cold.

(Tekh escapes to the upper decks and onto a life boat)

The ship now completely empty of all passengers, Bond awakens to an eery moan of twisting metal under pressure. He rushes up the stairs and into the main dining room, where he, horrifyingly, seeing the sealevel just passing over the windows. Helpless and frantic, Bond runs up the level he's on (now at a good 60 degree angle) towards the surface of the water, but can't beat the sinking of the ship.

Its now a race to the back of the ship. Bond rushes, instinctively heading for the captain's perch. He busts in the door, the panel of instruments blaring and pulsing as hard as Bond's heart. The room opens up to what was once a grand window view of the ship. The ship now nearly completely submerged, Bond pulls out his walther, grabs onto a rail and shoots as many panes of glass his bullets allow. As he struggles to beat the rushing of water, he takes his last gasp of breath.

The clock is ticking... Bond holds, waiting for the flow of water to level. As soon as it does, Bond propels his body out the windows, the dim sunlight seeming an infinite distance from him as thousands of tonnes of metal fall below him, to a dark cold grave. Bond, frantic for the cool touch of oxygen in his lungs thrashes frantically in the water. He realizes he may not make it. His training kicks in, and he quickly twists a ring on his watch, acting as a homing beacon. Its pulse he knows will bring friends to him. As he nears the surface, the warm embrace of shallow, temperate waters tells him he's close. Just before he breaks the surface, his body can't take it. He blacks out.

The scene opens to Bond's body, floating adrift and seemingly eternally alone in the sea. We're unsure if he's dead or alive. Suddenly, an alarming black mass risies beneath him. His body is washed onto a stealth black, metal surface of a submarine. The hatch opens, and men rush to Bond's body, pulling him into the security of a British submarine.

*The Silver Phantom is the name of the ship. Its a reference to the name of the train Bond and Solitaire take in the Bond novel, Live and Let Die.

Wow, that was longer than expected. Thoughts?

    *** The follow up scene:

With the sinking of a civilian cruise liner in international waters, and word getting out that both the nations of England and *The sheikh's country* involved, the UN calls a court hearing to cover the international incident. M does not go, but a representative of the English government is sent, along with Bond acting as the protective agent over the representative. During the UN hearing, Bond notices something suspicious about the guard for the *Sheikh's country* representative. Its a slightly disguised Tekh. Bond now has to investigate....

    @Jwestbrook very nice!
Quoting you here,''Its now a race to the back of the ship.
    Bond rushes, instinctively heading for
the captain's perch. He busts in the
door, the panel of instruments blaring
and pulsing as hard as Bond's heart. *''
Now where I put the '*', I was ecpecting Bond to pull out a couple of cool gadgets. Now since he's going to a cruise liner, Q gives him a jacket that inflates as a life jacket and maybe a pair of shoes that has three blades each and pop out if Bond makes specific gesture, and act as propellers so as to help Bond get to the surface quickly.
I'd love to read it if you could write further about tekh! Thanks.

@JWESTBROOK I'm glad someone else has picked up on that great title The Silver Phantom. If you wanted colour in the title you could also choose The Emerald Sphere or The Purple Cipher. They too I feel, make for great film names.

I must say though The Silver Phantom would be a nice nod for Bond 25.

It's all very good but I can't help but draw comparisons with Uncharted 3 and Titanic.

Done well though, it could work, of course it could. Have you got EON's email handy? ;)

Actually, I've been signed on for B24.. just as soon as I graduate college ;)

And tbh I saw Titanic when I was very young, and have never played an uncharted game. BUT I was watching the Inception scene where Joseph Gordon-Levitt is fighting off guards in a rotating hallway. Figured either a plane or a sinking ship could produce a similar effect. Slyfox mentioned ship, I wanted to see the ship sink, and voila.

hey guys? What do you think SkyFall is?? A spaceship? A US UFO? An enemy terror network? A disastrous weapon?? Is there a thread on this topic or anyone wishes to start it?

    Haven't we already determined
its the name of his ancestral home? The 'skyfall' that is referred to by M and Fiennes' character may be the attack on Bonds home.
