Thanks. And I'm already chreered, but obviously looking forward to news on Thursday. Better news than speculation, and it's about tiiiime...
Just to clarify, I'm not excited about Suicide Squad as such, but at least it's a movie with Jared Leto in it, so I'm interested - meaning my interest was in him doing more acting work, and if this is it, fine... I was rather hoping David Fincher would get in touch again and drag him onto a movie set, or something like that, but hey... I admire Jared a hell of a lot, for many reasons (his work, the issues he gets involved in, the charming personality, etc.), and he's definitely one of my fave actors - who doesn't act anywhere near enough considering his talent and opportunities, but there are not enough hours in the day for him, I suppose. :)
Hmm, pondering if I dare go outdoors today or not... I feel much better than yesterday and am kinda back to normal colour, but...
I was told that I need an annual checkup for my job; it is mandatory. Fine. It includes an annual chest x-ray. That is, offhand, not fine with me. Radiation accumulates. So rather than get into personal medical stories on here, I would genuinely appreciate your thoughts in general on this thread (risk? low risk? no risk?) regarding an annual chest x-ray - and please feel free to PM me with any more detailed discussion.
I plan to be here another 7 years and 2 months. So that is 7 more chest x-rays, one each year. I have now had 3 in the past 6 years already. And yes, I need to find out the kind of x-ray specifically that was done (CT or low dose, whatever it is called), so I can figure out the actual specific dose of radiation from it (it was a newer looking machine at a good hospital, so not an old fashioned kind) and yes I did get it done today. I just would like your thoughts on this. I am healthy. It is just a check up; not an x-ray needed for any specific reason.
Again, not looking to go into medical stories here on this thread, but please PM your thoughts. I'd appreciate it. Thanks! :)>-
Thanks. I expect to have regained my full strength by tomorrow. :)
@jackdagger great to know you are around!
@4EverBonded that kind of anual chest x-rays are low risk. In fact, a person needs to take a lot of x-rays in a short time frame for it to be dangerous. Even then, nowadays most x-rays are done with low dosage and the type you are talking about is especially safe. The benefits are much greater than the risks. As a disclaimer I'm not a specialist in radiation but I have more than general knowledge about it from my academic training and also because I worked with radiation in the past (not x-ray, more dangerous) and had to get special training for it.
Oh but I meant that I am a female, just not the other person you mentioned.
I chose this username because the last movie I had watched at the time was To Die For, and not because I was consciously trying to imply my gender. Actually, I now kind of regret choosing SuzanneStone because it might reflect badly on my character. :p
Anyway, people knew I was a girl because that's the way I introduced myself in the New Members topic. So there's your mystery solved. ;)
I don't mind when people do it, but rather that everyone has to make a fuss about it whenever it happens, especially to a famous person. People used to 'photobomb' pictures long before everyone labeled it like that, but it wouldn't be as annoying (at least to me) because it didn't happen as often and nobody would blog and tweet and talk about it. It's the fad and the ubiquity of the term that's irritating to me.
Welcome Back Dear Sandy it's good to see you .
Nice seeing you again Sandy.
I'm still here too but mainly just lurking.
And Craig is absolutely ROCKING that white dinner jacket in the trailer.
@jackdagger long time no see! Great to "see" you around. That jacket is something else, isn't it?
MMFR that got a mention in that article was awesome for many reasons, the women being just one of them. It just shouldn't be so damned rare. I was utterly stunned - and it's unfortunate that it's so rare that one is.
Yes, the clothes I've seen him in so far are excellent! I actually love the whole black mock turtleneck snow outfit. A lot. Fine in the white dinner jacket, oh yes. This will be the most stylish (for Bond himself) film in the Craig era, I believe. 8-> With Monica and Lea draped on his arms (and other various body parts at times), I think this movie will really sizzle. I am thinking bits will remind me Connery's Bond and Volpe, too.
Throwback/nods/influences in past Bond films? Sure. And I say why not? When done right, it's a very good idea, in my opinion. Done right means not overdone, and whatever slight feel/tone/look we get that is reminiscent of a previous Bond film (esp. a classic one) should still fit the present story like ... well, like a mink glove. ;) Should not take us out of the film really. So far, I have confidence in Mendes for this film. Craig looks fantastic in what I've seen so far. :-bd
The Girls Room has been pretty quiet for some time now.
