    Is it Slate, QoS?

He uses a knife against Bond, Bond smashes a vase of flowers accross his face, and then they share an 'intimate' moment on the balcony as Bond lets him bleed out.
  • I don't know. I'll say Rosie Carver from Live and Let Die

This has to go sooner or later

    **==!!!WE HAVE A WINNER!!! **==

Let me first qualify the clues:

    1. Take note of my drab style.
    - Drab style is a synonym for gray name, like slate-gray, and you can take notes on a piece of slate in the traditional sense of a piece of slate.

    2. My employer is a yielding imp.
    - 'yielding imp' is a synonym for 'surrender monkey', which describes a frenchmen of course, which is what Dominic Greene is, and he hires Slate to kill Camille.

    3. I’m not a fan of reading material.
    - During their brief fight, Bond hits Slate in the face with a book

    4. I have an important influence on the zeitgeist of the series.
    - Slate's fight with Bond made the film feel like a Bourne movie

    5. I only appear in one film.
    - Slate's only in Quantum of Solace

    6. I’m headstrong
    - Slate head-buts Bond, and Bond uses his head to break through the french doors

    7. The Joker would approve
    - Slate uses an out the front knife which the Joker would approve of.

    8. I should be good at my job
    - His name is Slate, and he's pretending to be a geologist, someone who works with rocks who's name is a type of rock.

    9. Bond should never send flowers
    - Bond starts the fight by 'sending' a small vase of flowers into Slate's face.

    10. Bond and I share an intimate moment
    - The intimate moment that they share is when Bond is holding Slate down as he bleeds out and dies.

While I would like to pat myself on the back a bit for conducting such a difficult guessing round, I would like to congratulate @JWESTBROOK in the highest! Good one you sir! =D> I humbly pass this game on to you, with the modest request that you follow my format of presentation with regular re-caps that include all the clues and all the wrong guesses. I look forward to playing this game with all of you!
  • Little disappoitned right now but Well Done to Mr Westbrook

    To solve that, deserves recognition
  • @Baltimore_007, doesn't it all make sense now? Were my clues not quite clever?

Very! I only got it on one or two of the clues.

I'll edit once I have a character set up! Baltimore usually get's mine pretty easy, so don't fret buddy!
  • That's what it's all about, clever clues, that while relevant, aren't overly belligerent. I think what we had here was another example, although I invariably take the same route

That was a most devious round @sirseaninbond

Why, Even I was at a loss

How was that related to MR?
  • edited December 2012 Posts: 5,745
    Okay, a fresh start!

    Bond was bad for business.

I may have reminded you of the previous film.

I was a victim of friendly fire.

    Who am I?
  • How was that related to MR?

When people were guessing characters that worked for Drax, who is a frenchmen, I thought that people had begun to grasp the meaning of clue #2
  • It's not the owner of the flower store in For Your Eyes Only is it, surely not..

    Who am I?

    Zorin's henchman that he shot?

Not the flower store owner, and not one of Zorin's henchmen in the mine.

Mr. White? Bond was in his way to get the money, you was in CR then QoS, and in QoS he was shot in the tussle with Bond and Mitchell.

Spot on, but not who I had in mind. Keep guessing :)
  • It's getting late and all I keep focusing on is the first clue and neglecting the others

I'll have a go at, The Gondola man in Moonraker with the two lovers aboard who has an 'accident' when Moore goes straight through his boat etc and subsequent sinking, there was also gunfire involved of course. It's all I can come up with right now

    @Baltimore_007

Ah but the first clue is the most elusive so far. It's not the gondola man from Moonraker.
  • I'll say, General Gogol in Octopussy maybe?
  • edited December 2012 Posts: 5,745
It is not Gogol in Octopussy, my friend.

    An update before bed:

One last guess of the night, Carver in TND?
    Not Carver, TND
  • It has to be Mathis. But maybe he wasn't shot by Bond... Oh well, I'll say him anyway.

    Rene Mathis.

Dominic Greene? Bond was indeed VERY bad for his business, we had the gorgeous and talented Ms. Eva Green in CR (similar spelling to Greene, same pronunciation), and Greene was killed by his own organization, Quantum. Probably not, but just me trying out the clues in different places.
