    Encore une fois...

I am the captain of my ship and I'll make you meet your Waterloo.
I am every double-O that has ever been and I'm every Bond girl too.
I keep you going and I often fly.
I stand for murder and I come from the sky.
I am always there but not always seen
I am frequently near and rarely clean
I belong to many, and I belong to one.
You'll hear me again before I'm done.

Dr. Hall from SF and the poem represents the word associations?
  • TokolosheTokoloshe Under your bed
    Posts: 2,667
Yes indeed @pachazo you have solved the riddle - it is Dr Hall the word association psychologist! The poem clues each of his words, thus:

I am the captain of my ship (DAY*) and I'll make you meet your Waterloo (GUN).
I am every double-O that has ever been (AGENT) and I'm every Bond girl too (WOMAN).
I keep you going (HEART) and I often fly (BIRD).
I stand for murder (M) and I come from the sky (SUNLIGHT).
I am always there but not always seen (MOONLIGHT**)
I am frequently near and rarely clean (MURDER)
I belong to many (COUNTRY), and I belong to one (SKYFALL).
You'll hear me again (SKYFALL) before I'm done (DONE!)

    * Commander Richard Day is the captain of the HMS Devonshire in TND
** I wrote this from online versions of the script which had MOON rather than MOONLIGHT, and was very annoyed with myself for not checking the actual scene more thoroughly. Apologies for the slightly misleading clue.

Nonetheless it was fun to do something different for a change. Over to you, Mr P.

I also realised afterwards that it would have been nice to clue SUNLIGHT with a reference to Tracy's poem... "for thee the sunlight creeps across the lawn".

    Ah well!

That was very clever of you @Tokoloshe. Also, thanks for providing us with a breath of fresh air by doing something different.

For the longest time I was looking for a group of people. I thought that perhaps each line represented a particular person seated at the table or what have you.

Then, when @Birdleson guessed Kincade my mind went to Dr. Hall and it all just clicked. Thanks for the assist, man. If I had a mustache, I'd be twirling it and laughing maniacally right about now!

Well, it seems I have my work cut out for me following this one up. I'll put my thinking cap on and return with a new round as soon as I can.
