Character: Hans, the receptionist of Palais Schwarzenberg, the hotel in Vienna in TLD
1. It's not as dark here as the name would imply.
The hotel is called “Palais Schwarzenberg”. Schwarzenberg is german and can be translated as “Black mountain”. The hotel isn’t black/dark inside.
2. Something will come up.
The vodka martini will be sent up to Bond’s room.
3. We've obviously met before...
Hans says: The usual suite?
4. I'm well dressed. Better than Bond.
He is wearing a suit with a tie while Bond is wearing casual clothes: jacket and sweater.
5. Bond's last comment isn't really necessary.
Hans’s says “Of course” after Bonds “Shaken, not stirred”. This implies that he new this already.
6. Two healthy ways of transportation lead Bond to me.
Bond and Kara arrive in Vienna in a truck transporting vergetables. Afterwords, they use a “special” taxi in Vienna where you can sit in the fresh air without producing exhaust fumes: A horse-drawn carriage/cab.
7. My working place had the same name in real life.
At the time, it was really a hotel with the same name. Unfortunately, it isn’t a hotel anymore but it is still owned by the family Schwarzenberg.
8. Bond treats women like objects (which isn't a bad thing...) right before he meets me.
Bond and Kara arrive at the hotel. Bond gives the cello to a porter and says “Careful”. He says the same a few seconds later when Kara is stepping out of the carriage.
9. Were the stripes of Greece an inspiration for our colour scheme?
There are blue and white flowers behind Hans. Most of his co-workers are dressed in blue with a bit of white. We see blue/white striped canvas blinds.
10. IA SBY OP PRE [MED.]
Presbyopia is a technical term in medicine: Older people ofen need glasses for short distances (Hans uses them while he’s writing) while they don’t need glasses for the distance (Bond is a few metres away). This should also help you to find out that the character is an older person.
11. While you see Bond, you can see me writing.
Yes, while Bond is on the phone with Universal Exports.
12. Bond requires two and then again two.
Two separate bedrooms and two tickets for the opera.
13. I'm part of a fan service.
“Shaken, not stirred”.
14. I’m not in London. But combine it with the Golden one and you will eventually know in which other city I am.
Combine London with Golden one. GoldenEYE. London + Eye = London Eye. Where is another city with a famous ferris wheel?
15. There were more memorable ones doing the same before and after this film.
Many other receptionist in other Bond movies. Often beautiful women…
16. Bond travels to my working place with two female companions.
With Kara and the cello, also known as the Lady rose.
17. It's kind of risky (in other words: expensive) to spend too much time with your wife/girlfirend at "my" place.
You can buy necklaces from Carlier and dresses. Kara gets a dress for the opera.
18. I'm not the one who was killed by animals.
Blofeld’s henchman was killed by hungry fishes in YOLT. He was also called called Hans.
19. We see a "Disney scenery" right before Bond arrives at my building.
Palace (Schloss Schönbrunn), dancing people, dressed like “princesses”
Oh dear, I'll have to get my thinking cap on... bear with me!
EDIT:
Right, you guys should be able to solve this one quite quickly... (not putting any pressure on you of course :-D )
her it goes, the first three clues:
1. My skills are impressive
2. I ain’t sayin’nothing
3. I’m definitely not the main attraction here
4...Still, my skills make it all work
5. Getting off this way is fitting for the day
6. ......But only after the other guy
7. Carjacking? No, but something similar
good luck!
Incorrect:
Bobsleigh driver FYEO
Butterfly puppeteer
Le Chiffre
Oddjob.
1. My skills are impressive - He needs his hand to play cards, and boy, can he play!
2. I ain't sayin' nothing - "Not a word of protest"
3. I'm definitely not the main attraction here - not when Valenka's in the room
Nice.
That's usually my strategy too. If I don't get it, long hiatus for me :))
Well, time to shoot in and out again, as there's two more clues to get your teeth in....
