Not a bad guess at all... it's not the Bulgarian mercenary but you're in the right direction.

    Well done @Tokoloshe2 !
It is indeed the Hungarian delegate at the UN.

    1. When I talk, others listen...
    Kind of obvious.
    2. ...although no one actually looks at me.
None of the other delegates look at their colleague while he delivers his speech as their attention is focused on the translator's words coming through their earpieces.
    3. As the song title suggests, the UN translator makes sure the Hungarian delegate's words are understood by the other participants.
    4. GAY ARM
Anagram for MAGYAR which is another name for Hungarian.
    5. I don't get to finish what I started.
Speech is interrupted by Dawes' death.
6a & 6b Two part clue: Gerard Butler as Attila the HUN + GARY Busey = HUNGARY.
    7. If you look at clue #4 from a different perspective, you might be able to find me.
    The aformentioned anagram.
    8. Our reaction time leaves something to be desired.
It is almost comical how long it takes for everyone in the room to realize something is wrong.

TBH I was a bit nervous because the Hungarian delegate/language had just been mentioned in the movie trivia thread and I was afraid it would tip people towards the solution much sooner than I had intended 😅

That was a special coincidence. But I didn't link it at all.

Got it from the MAGYAR clue (after coming to the conclusion the margay has yet to make a Bond film appearance!)

Just took me a while to work out who was Hungarian :)

And off we go again. A named, speaking Eon character:

    1. I don't need to visit Barnard Castle; there's nothing wrong with my eyes

    2. I may not look it, but I am hard and strong.
  • QBranchQBranch Always have an escape plan. Mine is watching James Bond films.

Bond takes Kerim's bottle of alcohol.

    2. I may not look it, but I am hard and strong.

I didn't know the bulldog spoke?

    Boris Grishenko
    1. he's played by Alan Cumming, whom, as far as I know, indeed didn't drive up to Barnard Castle as Cummings did to test his vision.
    2. 2. He doesn't look strong, but he's 'invincible', and certainly hard after beeing frozen.
