Right after the title sequence we get a close up of a group of diamonds in a glass case display. Dulation , the Star of South Africa and the Akbar Shah. The Akbar Shāh was also known as the "Lustre of the Peacock Throne", hence the peacock clue. Plus, M tells Bond that the least he can expect from Bond is a little plain, solid work."
M has a secretary that Bond is more fond of than Sir Donald's. Obviously, they are meeting with Sir Donald to converse about the diamonds. Bond's instincts were wrong this time when he didn't feel that their section should be concerned about diamond smuggling. Mind you that in this film Bond is literally referred to as Superman by Ms. Case. So that's interesting.
Once inside Sir Donald's office, the conversation turned to sherry. Sherry is a wine that hails from Jerez de la Frontera in Andalusia, Spain. The original vintage in which the sherry is based (which Bond so cleverly knew) was 1851, the very same year a young Mark Twain became a typesetter for the Hannibal Journal.
He opens the double doors and lets them know that Sir Donald is ready and goes on his merry way like a good little minor character. And that's all for this round. @R1s1ngs0n, you have been a great addition to this game. I don't believe I was active when you first started here, but am glad that you have joined us. @goldenswissroyale you were so close you could taste it. You're very bright and you had the right idea, but wrong pussy. Please allow the pun as it is a DAF character after all!
Over to you, @R1s1ngs0n.
Let's continue with this unnamed EON character.
1. My disgust is apparent.
2. I may also elicit disgust in others.
3. "Grischka, I could have sworn it was you down there"
4. Although I’m far from amused, it seems my purpose is to amuse others. Whether I achieve it, is an entirely different story.
5. I seem to be a tradesman of sorts.
6. Inspired by Visconti, perhaps?
7. No respect whatsoever.
8. Osato would have surely disapproved.
Adolph Gettler
Butterfly Puppeteer from AVTAK
Col. Jacques Bouvar
New clue added.
It’s an unnamed character, folks.
Added a new clue.
1. My disgust is apparent.
His reaction at the sight of the floating coffin.
2. I may also elicit disgust in others.
Unkempt appearance, accompanied by coughing and other 'musical' sounds.
3. "Grischka, I could have sworn it was you down there"
A knife-throwing assassin who got dispatched by Bond with his own knife.
4. Although I’m far from amused, it seems my purpose is to amuse others. Whether I achieve it, is an entirely different story.
He's supposed to make the audience laugh... personally, I've always found the whole gondola sequence embarassing.
5. I seem to be a tradesman of sorts.
A plumber, by the looks of it.
6. Inspired by Visconti, perhaps?
The coffin floating on the canal, alluding to Visconti's "Death In Venice"
7. No respect whatsoever.
Throwing his cigarette into the water.
8. Osato would have surely disapproved.
He looks to be a walking chimney.
Over to you.
1) I'm one of half of a duo.
2) The audience sees me before the "hater" does.
3) Mr. White was right!
4) I begin the scene with some headwear, but it doesn't last long.
5) Just the two of us.
6) You might find me at the kolinahr ritual or perhaps the fal-tor-pan ceremony.
7) Connect the dots, la la la la.
8) You shouldn't throw stones at this crowd.
9) He finally recognizes the threat when my partner arrives.
10) OHMSS, MR and ???
