Really? I love it, and I have several friends who like it, and they are not even Bond fans. They say it's the best "Bond, James Bond"-delivery ever.
For Craig the worst love must be either the armor thing or "that's why I love you". Hmm, I'll go for the first one.
Brosnan: "I take pleasure in great beauty".
Dalton: Can't come up with one now.
Moore: Dunno, can't come up with one here either.
Lazenby: "Just keep my mind on your driving" or "I love you, will you marry me?"
Connery: Yet again, can't come up with one.
Exactly. They aren't fans so how would they know? You just negated your own statement.
But non-Bond fans wouldn't know what to look for in a delivery, or what all the deliveries have been to like it.
Don't worry about it. I have had enough debating to last me a lifetime lately on here, so mi casa su casa @007RogerMoore. :D
Lazenby: I love all his dialogue (Thanks, Simon Raven!)
Moore: "That's what you call a Mexican screw-off." (Really?)
Dalton: "Bond, James Bond." (Terrible delivery.)
Brosnan: Easily "I thought Christmas only comes once a year." (Ugh!)
Craig: "Allow me." (Doesn't quite track with the rest of the film.)
Those, were Shocking. NEGATIVELY shocking.
Any way, regarding the others, there are plenty of bad lines but they all redeemed themselves one way or another.
:-(( X_X :-L =(( :-& [-X >:/
and what was that other one, when Zukovsky was in his own caviar ? 'Too bad we don't have any oysters' or something, that was pretty bad
or to King in TWINE - 'There's no sense in living if you can't feel alive, that's your motto isn't it', that sounded just silly actually
but it's not just Brosnan that gave some lame lines, we can't single out one individual, no (Bond) actor has been flawless with regards to it
No way it was a bad line. '-' That Line was the most epic ever.
Was a good line, bad delivery.
Yep, but remind the scene, Bond was angry. Elektra delivered it much better on the casino. (yes, i really wanted to say that.)
No way. The worst one was "So you live to Die Another Day?". In other languages, there is just no way to traduce it. In Portuguese, that quote became dubbed as "So you live to die in the other day?" and the official film's name became "A New Day to Die" just as horrible as the film.
Bit late to the party aren't we.
(:|
@Getafix is so very late to this party, and I bet he's a double-dipper. ;)
HAHAHAHAHA!!! =))
But the rest were pretty good. "For England James?" "No....For me." is a classic.
Moore and Lazenby had the most dodgy ones. Lazenby's one liners seemed totally out of place in some scenes. I really hated the way "He's branched off" sounded in OHMSS.
Exactly.
What about Moore in that ridiculous race through the streets of India etc
'Thank God for hard currency'
'You'd better stick this back yourself'
'Vijay we have company - don't worry, it's a company car'
'It certainly pays to advertise'
and even before that, 'You may need this to play with your asp'
probably get castigated now by Moore fanciers but what can you do
8-|
Just watched this yesterday. I feel if they left out the ones I've marked it would of been better.
Another quick swipe at Moore while time allows it
at the end of Moonraker - 'Where's Drax? - oh, he had to fly'... not the slightest bit amusing even if it was quite well delivered
AVTAK - 'a little restless, but I got off eventually'
TMWTGG - 'a midget in a pack of peanuts, what will they think of next' (?)
LALD - 'where's Kananga ?, oh he always did have an inflated opinion of himself' etc
I couldn't have said it better myself. I saw the Brosnan bashing coming immeditaely with the title alone. It's just appalling that Brosnan's dialogue is getting flushed more than Lazenby's. I mean really, that doesn't fit at all.
And I'm not being a hypocrite; I love all of the Bonds, the Bond films, and don't hate, loathe, or find myself disgusted by any of them. Sure, some Bonds I find to be better than others, or I think Film A is better than Film B, but some users just bring up every single negative thing about this actor or that film.
