And I so never think of him like that, even with M, Impossible films. Not a big Cruise fan. But I will definitely get this one soon.

You don't? To me he is the epitome of a movie hero. The man is almost 50 and still looks like he could wreck you in a second. He does all his own stunts, even the dangerous stunt in Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol where he ran down and around the Burj Khalifa!

    Yes, THAT thing.

He is an idol of mine, and I hope I am in that shape when I get to be his age. If I ever saw him in person I doubt I could get up from this position: ^:)^

I always heard of the throne up there, but never actually saw anyone sit in it. AWESOME!
Tom is 2,717 feet off the ground, yet looks so relaxed. What a guy.

@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7, he's a God. Apparently, he got up one morning, climbed up, and they hoisted his clothes up to him and he got dressed there. Just a casual green tee and jeans. What. A. Man.

I'm confused...can't get further from badass means that you think he's the least badass person in the world. Really? He's in better shape at 50 than most guys half his age, does stunts that some experienced stuntmen would be scared to do, and has hobbies that would make most men throw up (like flying stunt planes). He may not have a shaved head and lots of tattoos but the man is pretty damn cool in my book.

@thelordflasheart, I just realized that mistake when I read your quote. Definite mistake on my part, I will fix that. I meant that you can't get closer to badass than this.

I don't really have a favorite director, but if I had to pick one..

    John McTiernan

    #1 Predator 1987
    #2 Die Hard With A Vengeance 1995
#3 The Hunt For Red October 1990
    #4 Die Hard 1988
    #5 Basic 2003

really would of liked to have seen him undertaken a Bond release at some stage

Ah, I understand. I was wondering if it was some oblique reference to how high up he was!

I know that there are a lot of people who don't like Cruise's religion so they feel that diminishes every other part of his life. But the man always brings it to every film he makes, lives life to the fullest, and is always looking for new challenges. I used to be angrily jealous of how much the girls in my school were in love with him (back in the Top Gun/Cocktail days) but when I grew up I realized that no girl was going to fall out of love with him and into love with me by me or other guys insulting him. So instead of trying to drag his name down I started to try to build myself up. I would recommend that approach to any young guy who feels threatened or angry about attractive male celebs *cough* Daniel Craig in swim trunks *cough* ;-)

I find myself frequently watching 'Valkyrie'. A great film :) The best Tom Cruise film, imo.

Agreed, DC. When I saw it I was pleasantly surprised - I figured it would be good but it was much better than I expected. Especially that it was so involving considering that the audience knows the assassination plot will be unsuccessful...

I tend to agree.............But after certain antics of a diverse plummage of actors I do find myself steering clear of their work untill I have forgotten about it. That said I still have some aversion towards the worl of one Mel Gibson, his rants showed his true character and that still annoys me.

@SaintMark, since his rant, I've seen only one slightly enjoyable film that he's made, and that was 'Edge of Darkness.' Everything else has been pretty much low-budget, direct-to-DVD stuff.

that was the major success of the film. There was a real sense of suspense, even though you knew how it would end. I was on the edge of my seat the whole film !

As for Mel Gibson, who would want to see 'The Beaver' ?
I find the title "the Beaver" highly suspect and Mel has done no movies in a while that really interested me.

Tom Cruise is 50? I suppose he is when I think about how long he's been in films, but still, he's aged really well.

My Argento list would be the same @GoldenGun except Inferno would be above Phenonema.

I must revisit Opera as I've only seen it once.
