Period TV adaptations would be pitched at a very different audience to the films. They would be about capturing the essence of Fleming's novels. They would not necessarily require huge budgets and could be fantastic. People might be surprised by how different the novels are from the EON films.
I don't think this will ever happen but I don't see it as being in competition with the EON films. It would be about giving the Fleming novels a chance to actually be properly dramatised with all the post WW2 and Cold War richness that comes from doing a period piece.
How right you are and I'd buy shares in the production.
We could have Alan Furst or Philip Kerr write the screenplays.
Big question - who would play "Vintage Bond"?
My vote would be Dominic West.
Any thoughts?

Not too long ago I came up with the idea of a one off, starring Dalton as an older Bond on his last mission. Afterwards they would've just cast a new young actor and carried on as normal.
Nah, doesn´t look very cool.
So, in other words, he should face off with, and defeat, all of his major enemies before he hits 25? In Smallville, before even the very mention of the Superman suit, Clark Kent defeated Lex Luthor, Doomsday, General Zod, Bizarro and Brainiac. Basically, Young Bond would defeat Blofeld, Dr. No, Largo, Mr. Big, the Spang Brothers and others before the letters M I and the number 6 appear on a background element together? I say no.
