I'm with JobeGDG on this. The gunbarrel is a signature and I love the fact that it is updated for each film.
I hate to break it to you Babs but youre never going to win an Oscar love (especially while you keep hiring P&W) so quit ******** about with all the arty cr*p and just deliver up a cracking film with everything in its right place. Cubby and Harry never changed it so why do you with your degree in film studies and your neoptistic leg up in the industry think you know better than blokes who created a cinematic legend from scratch?
To quote Partridge himself 'STOP GETTING BOND WRONG!'
MOD EDIT: bypassing F-word filter removed
QOS was way too fast and the GB looked a little un-inspiring.
Also PLEASE bring back Daniel Kleinman for the titles and hopefully have an title sequence akin to GE. Proof that you can have a stunning title sequence WITHOUT resorting to CGI!!!
I want Kleinman back too. The average fan boy with an expensive PC can do what those acid trippers did for QOS. It was terrible, it would work for a video game at best. I don't know who called in which favours but it was a let-down in both departments. Usually, a bad song is slightly compensated by some really good title design. Here we got neither of both, which made it two very painful minutes to sit through. However, we should make it clear that Kleinman also uses CGI. He just knows how to handle it better, that's all. GE's definitely a winner in that respect.
* Yep, OK, 16 years ago. Man I feel old.
Putting the gunbarrel back at the beginning would be something I'd love to see Bond 23 open up with to give me confidence about the rest of the film.
