It took a bit of time for me to get my head around it but I didn't expect Mr.White and co to have created our sense of smell. Who would have thought it?

I have almost lost my sense of smell, but strangely I can identify certain smells that remind me of a special memory. One of these smells is popcorn - and I remember this smell because my dear old dad took me to my first Bond movie at that was a special moment.

What smell memoirs do you have?

    fresh cut grass...

i am a huge baseball fan - and that smell takes me back to when i was little, each summer running out onto the ball field under the hot sun, and playing baseball with friends - or in leagues... there was nothing like it.

My profession includes treating the loss of the sense of smell. Out of experience I can say, if you would like to gain it back, forgotmyusername, it´s well worth to find a good osteopath, especially one who´s good in Craniosacral Therapy. A lot of lesions related to the sense of smell can be treated very nicely with that.

I love to smell cities and places. Most towns have their distinctive smell. Houses as well. When I smell certain places I´ve not been in often, memories from selected yet totally different times come to my mind immediately. I know a place for example that at once reminded me of my early childhood and at the same time of an age around 12 or so. Fascinating stuff, those smells.
  • thanks for the advice on regaining my smell. And yes, fresh cut grass is another smell i can smell but cricket is my game.

Just had a whiff of Poison the perfume and that sends me back to the only girl I really loved. Now that is a heartbreak smell.

No wonder you lost your sense of smell. Find a better girl, and you´ll see you´ll smell again. ;-)
