Hope they do the right thing after another incident like this? And just forget about getting elected and sort the gun laws out?
@Lancaster007, my thoughts exactly. Now all the moviegoers and I will be terrified and worried the whole time about the "What if?"s.
I hope you can go and just relax and try to watch what i imagine is a great movie!
if someone is crazy enough to want to walk into a theater in full riot gear with a bulletproof vest, gas mask, tear gas and want to murder a room full of innocent people - amending gun laws wont make a difference.. someone that crazy will find a way to get a gun...... all it does is punish those who respect the law, not the ones who don't
I'll be able to relax, and hopefully enjoy it too, it's just knowing that people lost their lives during what should have been a safe, happy and enjoyable event. I live in a part of the world that is fairly safe and free of these kinds of random acts of outrageous violence.
Mark, you are so right. People don't realize that crying babies are an annoyance to people who are trying to watch the film. A baby should be at home at midnight in it's crib, not at a movie. That is so selfish on the parent's part, they are thinking about themselves before their child. If you can't get care then go when you can. I would have never considered taking my children at that age to a movie, especially at that hour. Same thing with ringing cell phones, loud talking, so many people are so self absorbed and have no consideration.
My heart breaks for the innocent people who died, especially the children. We are too humane when it comes to punishment in these cases and need stronger and more public deterrents so people know the consequences of such actions.
Sadly my friend you make a fair, genuine, and probably realistic observation.
Canada has brilliant gun laws in that regard. It's very difficult to actually get a license, you have to reregister any weapons on a regular basis, and there are a series of delays along the lines. In short, it's time consuming and discouraging.
and for what reason? i can't wait to hear his doozy of explanation.
didn't you know.. babies are lulled to sleep by the sound of loud explosions and gunfire.... throw on Rambo and they are out like a light every time..
seriously though, i'd hate to be in their situation and can't imagine what it must feel like - thats a decision they'll be second guessing for the rest of their lives...... it's just a damn shame......
And now when it just days from the one year " anniversary " since the massacre in Norway too.
May all the victims rest in peace and i send all my condolences to the familys of all the vounded and murdered.
it doesn't matter the country, color, or language.. we are all human beings, and we all laugh and hurt the same.
Very, very good news. It would have felt so much worse to know such a young baby, barely into this world yet, had to be dragged to a film just to lose his or her life.
Yes indeed. These sort of things shocks people, around the world. Here in Sweden we have live streaming from Denver to follow everything...
That is so good to hear!
This is what I like to see: he's putting hate and politics aside for the day, and just leaving it for prayer and condolences.
Police are now saying the suspect's apartment is booby-trapped, and they're currently working toward disarming any and all traps. The suspect is apparently up to receive a maximum of 35 years. That's it?!
And the french premiere and the interviews with the actors is all cancelled.
... thats probably what they are saying, just to start off... a premeditated act of violence that took the lives of 14 people - he'll get life, if not the death penalty.. just watch.
i would like to think, that the premiere and interviews were canceled (and rescheduled) because of the events that transpired.. not because they believe the film is a monger for violence.... if it be the latter, that's ignorance in it's purest form........ but they are french, so......
