Christopher Nolan to direct Bond 24?

Now that "THE DARK KNIGHT RISES" is out there (I saw it yesterday....Fanfuckingtastic), and his epic Batman trilogy is now complete- Christopher Nolan, I guess- will be contemplating his next project. OK- we know that Mr.Nolan is one of the producers of Zack Snyder's SUPERMAN re-boot, "MAN OF STEEL" which is due out June 2013 (the teaser trailer came out this week) but what we all want to know is....When will he be sitting in the Director's chair again? If you have seen "INCEPTION" (incredible movie), there are definitely elements of 007 in that movie and Nolan has been quoted in many interviews saying that he was heavily influenced by the Bond movies whilst making "INCEPTION". Further still- whilst making TDKR, Nolan actually said on more than one occasion- that he would love to direct a Bond movie. When SAM MENDES was originally attached to (what was then known as) Bond 23, I have to be honest- I was a little worried. However- realising how good the script is and Mendes' pedigree as an Oscar winning Director....and of course, the "SKYFALL" teaser trailer...all of my initial worries have evaporated. Many people in the community are saying that with the quality of the cast, the director, the cinematographer etc...this could be the greatest Bond movie EVER!!! Whilst I would not go so far as to make sweeping statements like that before I have seen the movie- I am without doubt, incredibly excited about "SKYFALL", as are a lot of industry insiders (if you've seen the really dodgy footage of the 2nd "SKYFALL" trailer that leaked online today, you can clearly hear a journalist or whatever, say "I just had an orgasm" at the end of the trailer LoL!). So what of Bond 24? I'm pretty sure that Bond 24 will be (and probably should be) DANIEL CRAIG's final Bond movie...and despite all the haters (and I'll be honest, before CASINO ROYALE came out, I was one of them when I found out he'd been cast), what a brilliant job DANIEL has done - now HE will be the tough act to follow etc etc. But for DANIEL's swansong as 007, and taking into account how high the bar has been raised with regards to the quality and crew of "SKYFALL"- who better to direct him than CHRISTOPHER NOLAN. We can't let DANIEL go out like PIERCE. Michael, Barbara- do what ever you have to to get get Mr.Nolan on board....and Barbara- if he wants a blowjob, get out your kneepads and re-apply your chapstick!

    Dark Knight Rises is here- surely not ?! :O

    must of missed that....

    I don't care much for Batman first off, I don't know much about the Nolan guy either, haven't seen much of his work, Batman and James Bond are too different things, different genres, chalk and cheese to theaters, if this Nolan did well with one thing, it's not a signal to indicate he would be a supreme success with this franchise. And why talk about Bond 24?, - Bond 23 has not yet been finalized and we await to see that in it's final presentation, getting a bit ahead of events maybe. Samuel just pointed out a duplicate thead, so it looks like this will be short lived, but that's mainly how I feel about it

    Batman and Bond are different, but in the Nolan Batman films, there's plenty of scenes that could've come straight from a Bond movie. And then there's Inception, which has OHMSS references.

    SF looks to be awesome thus far and if the movie lives up to the hype or surpasses it, I'd rather EON do all they can to get Mendes back and I mean really try and put in the effort to get him back. Nolan is good, especially on paper but is he really right for Bond? Honestly, if SF delivers then the series will only prove what it's been proving for the last 50 years, that it doesn't need to make stunt-hirings with their directors because lets fac it, Nolan coming on board would be stunt-hiring of the tallest order.

    I want Nolan to introduce a new Bond, so maybe have Mendes back or get others until Craig retires.

    I don't want this to turn into another Batman free for all, there's enough of that already, but I feel maybe a lot of movies outside of the 007 series have nods or acknowledgements to Bond, intentional or otherwise. I said before I wouldn't be too keen on Nolan as a future Bond director, we still await what Mendes can put together as the finished product and I am quietly confident, but until then I was thinking we should wait until after we even think about other directors for the next release. James Bond is James Bond for me, I try to envisage it will always be like what I remember, that isn't always the case, but there you are. I don't always like the overuse of stunts or fancy sequences in Bond, and feel Nolan would only go down a route I wouldn't feel comfortable with. Maybe I'm too stuck in the 'sensible' days of the 1960s even, when Connery just went about his business in a no nonsense approach and any stunts or extravagant action bits were kept to a minimum, but that's largely how I see it

    @Baltimore_007 .....respect for commenting on my post- thank you. The reason I'm talking about Bond 24 is because EON Productions have already been quoted as saying that discussions are already happening around Bond 24. Bond 23 has wrapped already- we all can't wait for Oct 26th (or Nov 9th if you're outside of the UK). Christopher Nolan is THE director of the moment - I partially agree with what you're saying with regards to "just because he done a good job with Batman...." etc etc but you admitted yourself, you've not even SEEN his movies and don't know much about him.....Trust me, he could make a great Bond movie, provided the script was right. Sam Mendes has NEVER made a movie that is remotely similar to a Bond movie. However- I respect your opinion!

    There were talks at the first PC, that they might want Mendes back, if he wants the job. Since - from what we saw - it was a good experience unlike that of QOS for everybody - he could be very tempted to return. I agree - why not build on a successful relationship and getting someone, who already proved, he can do the job and understands,what Bond is.

    Thanks @Germanlady - I agree and I honestly think Sam Mendes (from what I have seen so far) has done a fantastic job and I would certainly be keen on him doing another one..if of course, the rest of the movie is as good as what we've seen in the Teaser Trailer...and I'm sure it will be. However- Nolan is also a British Director of who is of the age where it would be impossible for him NOT to have been influenced by Bond movies and ultimately want to direct one.... There was even talk of Danny Boyle being the director of Bond 23 at one point (altho this was subsequently discovered to be bullshit) and got the chance to direct Daniel Craig in the mini Bond movie which will be part of his London 2012 Olympics opening ceremony (Boyle is Art Director for the opening ceremony). I'm positive Mendes understands what and who Bond is because he grew up with the Bond movies (as did I- I'm 43), but I'm sure Nolan understands as well. Martin Campbell is from New Zealand and he did a fantastic job introducing PIERCE in "GOLDENEYE" and as for "CASINO ROYLE"....well- 'nuff said!

    ....by the way, this is me (Steve Thorpe) meeting Sir Roger Moore on The Graham Norton Show a couple of years ago. My eldest son recorded it on his phone from the TV so the quality is not the best LoL!
