M: Where the hell have you been?
Bond: Enjoying death.
M turns on the light and we see Bond's face
Bond: 007 reporting for duty.
I think you're right!
I just had to bump this, as such glaringly obvious things go so unnoticed while others continue to ignore what we plead and instead post blatant spoilers, anyway.
Spoiler tags, ladies and gentlemen. They're there for a reason.
Yes, but as I've said, scripts are constantly revised in production and during shooting, and lines can easily be cut from one scene and used in another to be more effective. This happens all the time. Anyway, we'll all know for sure in 4 weeks.
Yes. The way it plays in the script that they had at the end of last October was: M "Where the hell have you been?", Bond "Enjoying death." M switches light on. Bond "007 reporting for duty."
I don't like the scene though, its too much of a copy of the one in Casino Royale.
But you are right, that would make a killer end-line. I just hope they've realised that and moved it to the end. Of course, depending on how much the film majors on the theme of Bond questioning his duty and then resolving that by the end, it may make sense to have it in both scenes, so that at the end we realise he has re-committed.
