I imagine that they chose to film inside the real location because it made more financial sense.
Not only had they already paid to use the location, but it also happened to contain a very large ready-made indoor space that perfectly matched the location in the script.
As UK studio space is currently in such high demand, it makes very little financial sense for WB to take one of its bigger soundstages out of commission just build a basic office set inside it.
Even though it may technically cost WB a little more money to hire the location for longer, renting out a soundstage to another company generates more than enough profit to compensate.
Of course, that's the benefit of owning a whole studio facility. (This is also why Disney and Netflix have begun signing exclusive deals with facilities like Pinewood and Shepperton.)
Indeed they do, hence their ability to lease out its soundstages to other movie studios. They make a lot of money doing that, too.
So much so, that most of the movies that have been shot there in the last 5 years, were actually made by outside companies like Disney, Netflix, and Universal.
:Edit: Now that I think about it, I wouldn't be too shocked if their incredible success doing this wasn't what inspired Netflix and Disney to essentially do the same thing with their exclusive decade-long contracts with Shepperton and Pinewood.
Love him or hate him, I respect him for putting family first. No one should have to go through what he and his family did. Sadly, Ray Fisher keeps rambling about HIMSELF. He doesn’t provide any explanation on what happened. His career is over before it started.
And Fisher, sadly, is blowing his chances.
+1. He’s a cool guy. He’s doing all this just for the fans, even for free, as he said.
As for the Fisher thing; Joss Whedon was always rumored to be a bit of a douche, but Fisher was the worst possible candidate to take on WB over his antics. He sounds like a total whingebag and has managed to undermine himself every time he's opened his mouth.
Fall - Rise - Reborn. Those posters are quite meta.
Lol. I have that fear. But I'm going into this film, like it's a Michael Bay film....just for the spectacle. Although, I would like to be surprised. The only thing I can fully vouch for...even if I'm yet to hear it, is Junkie XL's score...it's surely going to be BOMBASTIC!!!
Great stuff not long to wait.
Yeah, the score is the only thing I am truly excited for as I wasn't keen on Elfman's work in the previously released version of the film. And more Batfleck.
Yes! More Batfleck as well. Very stoic Batman he is. And yeah, I'm so happy Junkie XL is scoring this, as Elfman's score didn't leave an indelible impression on me as well.

He looks better, but WB, Zack Snyder & Jared Leto’s “damage” has been done.
Much better, Leto probably won't be in it very long. I am not a fan of his characterisation.
Doesn’t surprise me. Watch Ray Fisher never shut up now.
I have to agree. It's a dirty business. Fisher is their scapegoat. And people enjoy someone else's downfall so it's unlikely that anyone will stand up for Ray.
again hollywood has the dirties closets ever which is why I role my eyes every time they jump on some new PC bandwagon
I was most taken by Michelle Trachtenberg's posts on this yesterday after Carpenter and SMG said their piece; Trachtenberg implied something very sinister happened with her during filming of Buffy (she was, of course, only fifteen when she started that). It's likely going to go somewhere now that it's not just Fisher being vocal about it.
Boom!
He does, his hair looks good. I've always had a problem with how they style Cavill's hair as Superman; it's generally over gelled and ridged.
