    A) Marvel actually tries to polish their movies. They pick the right actors, they make the right designs, and they actually pay tribute to their source material while DC sh*ts on theirs. They also care about their movies making sense, while DC just likes to slap action together with an excuse plot and say "Here ya go!"
    B) The Dark Knight Rises is actually the movie in the trilogy that most people don't like.

    I hope the Arrowverse gets the chance to use these characters so that they can do them justice.

    Variety's SUICIDE SQUAD review: movie has "the lamest DC villain since Sharon Stone stalked Catwoman".

    'Suicide Squad' has dropped to 14%, only a few notches above 'Taken 3' (2015) and 'Fantastic Four' (2015).

    They've knocked expectations down so far that they can only be surpassed now. I'm seeing it either on Friday or Saturday. Margot won't let me down.

    That part is actually true. I've only read a few of the reviews so far, but they've all said she's not a bad part of the movie. The worst part seems to be Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang.

    It's a clotted and delirious film, with flashes of preposterous, operatic silliness. But it doesn’t have much room to breathe; there are some dull bits, and Leto’s Joker suffers in comparison with the late Heath Ledger.

    Indeed. As I said before, I hope the Arrowverse is allowed to use him again, because they actually treated the character with care.

    Oy vey, deja vu all over again. Not much to say, really, beyond stating that I wish it was a shocking or surprising response. I don't know what the average score is so far for the film, but I know it isn't good.

    Now we're at the stage where rock bottom expectations will lead to people enjoying the film, but that's not exactly a great thing, is it? If a film is reviewed to be garbage on a massive scale across many sites/magazines, and those bad reviews cause us to expect nothing special , is it really a point in the movie's favor when the only way to enjoy it is to expect nothing from it at all?

    This film represented a chance to look at the lives of DC's biggest rogues when they aren't facing the heroes and paint an intriguing picture of their inner and outer lives, and that alone should be food for the mind and eyes of moviegoers. It seems not to do a good job of that, if the majority are to be believed.

    It does make you wonder if people these days are being too critical and expecting too much from a genre with different rules than Academy darling dramas, but on the other hand, this response perfectly supports why the review embargoes weren't lifted until very, very close to the release.

    And @doubleoego, sadly, I wouldn't be surprised if your comment about an extended cut was right on the money.

    I was never very excited for this, but will definitely check it out, for Margot Robbie and Batman most of all. Those reviews and scores tell me nothing.

    I'm sure Batman chasing Joker and Harley opens up the film, makes it peak, and then nothing after that reaches the same level.

    That extended cut is definitely coming. I'm convinced it's going to be DC's "thing".

    I just cant understand what the malfunction is. Why cant DC make a non-Nolan film that's not poor? They have more than enough resources so why cant they make a good film? It's a sad day when the Lego Batman movie is the best thing to come out of WB/DC.

    Can only surmise that it's the most apt description of how truly truly bad SS is.
    DCs entire strategy was basically "catch up with Marvel" and they seem to be doing everything they can to do the complete opposite. DC's reactionary approach in making these movies is going to bury them. If WW isn't a hit then they're seriously done.

    @doubleoego, WW really is the biggie they need to be a winner. And then after JL the first thing they're going to capitalize off of is...Flash? I hope not. Put a Batman solo right after that son of a gun and call it a day.

    Affleck will start feeling the pressure from WB execs soon to get that film made.

    @Seven_Point_Six_Five, it seems Ben being quite proactive has helped things, with his script already in the can and now being reworked/refined with Geoff Johns on hand to aid the process. I agree, WB will want this thing out soon, and Ben may in fact be heading into work on it in earnest before JL even hits theaters. I'm sure next year's Comic-Con will reveal some stuff about the film to whet appetites.

    Mr Sunday Movies doesn't seem to be over the moon about the film but he did like it. And I tend to trust his opinion more than most reviewers of films in this genre.

    What's interesting to note is that any positive reviews are barely just that. Nothing particularly glowing. This is the 3rd critical misstep in a row now. Ayer dropping the ball goes to show that this isn't just a Snyder problem but upper management at WB haven't got the foggiest.
