Just a legend, plain n simple. Wish I was old enough to have been around when he actually landed on the moon.

A full life, an extraordinary opportunity and so well done: RIP Neil. Among the heavens and stars and forever an icon in our collective memory of that time.

(I did watch him land on the moon, with my family gathered around the tv.)

    RIP Neil.

I was only 4 at the time, yet I still remember watching the moon landing.

Such a shock. I don't know much behind the history of the man, but it is always a shame to see legends like this go. RIP. A man who truly cared for space exploration until his last breath.

Conspiracy theorists to this day will insist it was all faked, where's Buttons when you don't need him... , but I've never been skeptical with this event in history

RIP Mr Neil Armstrong, an iconic name in history, and just a few weeks after the passing of Sally Ride, first american woman in space. They paid homage to this in Diamonds are Forever, or actually, I think it was just a tongue in cheek reference to the landings two years earlier. Still sad news, as one of the greatest pioneers of space exploration is no longer with us. My sympathies to his immediate family on a sad day
  • RIP. He's on his final great journey. Legend.

RIP Neil Armstrong! Fly to the Moon and play among the stars!
  • I remember sitting in front of our TV in the living room watching it happen and thinking what a great achievement my country had accomplished. We beat the Communists to it and everyone was swelled with national pride.

    R.I.P Neil

Such a shame to see him pass on from surgery complications he underwent earlier in the month. RIP Neil.
