(I did watch him land on the moon, with my family gathered around the tv.)
I was only 4 at the time, yet I still remember watching the moon landing.
RIP Mr Neil Armstrong, an iconic name in history, and just a few weeks after the passing of Sally Ride, first american woman in space. They paid homage to this in Diamonds are Forever, or actually, I think it was just a tongue in cheek reference to the landings two years earlier. Still sad news, as one of the greatest pioneers of space exploration is no longer with us. My sympathies to his immediate family on a sad day
