Sad news indeed. I think I heard him speaking on Radio 4 about his illness some time ago - a brave decision.

RIP Bill Paxton. Always loved seeing him in any movie or TV series. A sad loss.

The only man who was killed by the Terminator, Predator & Alien! He was in practically all of my favorite movies. Everyone loved him.

    He'll be sorely missed.

R.I.P. There is only one Bill Paxton

    No, not Bill Paxton :(

He sometimes reminded me a bit of Pierce Brosnan. Both are essentially B-movie actors with a reputation for going over-the-top.

Shocked to see Bill Paxton pass away, an amazing actor and a big loss.

"How could they cut the power, man?! They're animals!"

RIP Bill Paxton. Sad news to wake up to.
  • All of his lines were gems!

I always cracked up at his delivery on this one from The Terminator:
    'Fuck YOU, ass HOLLLLLLE' :))

Neil Fingleton, who starred in 'Game of Thrones' and was one of the world's tallest men, has also passed away at the age of 36:

Jesus Christ. One of the worst feelings I experience now is getting up and seeing this goddamn thread with a bunch of fresh posts. My first thought, "Shit, who is it this time?"

IMHO, one of the signs of a great actor is to take a relatively minor, supporting role and use that to create a great character and really add to the movie as a whole. Its hard to think of a better example of this than his role in Aliens. Just wonderful talent.

Couldn't agree more with the above. I also loved his turn in True Lies. Always memorable.

That's awful news. Really good actor and seemed a real down to earth guy. Gutted.

As Hudson would say, "Game over, man. Game over.."

Shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of Bill Paxton. Hugely likeable, always dependable and wonderful to watch. A true pro of the industry. When you can make acting look effortless and easy, you know you're good at it. Bill Paxton could often take a minor role, and make it a memorable one. A sad loss.
    RIP

I loved Paxton in everything he did, from the Cameron films to U-571.
How can he die at the age 61?!?
    I'm truly saddened. :(

Complications from heart surgery I believe. Even after learning of his passing via this thread, I had to check various news pages to see if it was true. Seems hard to believe.

This one's a real bummer. Somehow managed to miss this news yesterday. Incredibly sad loss. Great actor and one who, despite being in virtually everything it seems, never got the kind of credit that I thought he deserved. Sad day. :(
