  Horror isn’t really my thing, so I remember Mr. Haig mostly from his TV work in the 1960s and 70s (Get Smart, The Man from U.N.C.L.E, Star Trek, Mission Impossible, Gunsmoke, etc.). In fact, you would be hard pressed to name a TV show during this period that didn’t have at-least one Sid Haig appearance 😊.
  
  Let’s also remember him from his short turn in DAF (“I gotta brudder…”).

  R.I.P. Robert Hunter, lyricist for the Grateful Dead. He wrote a lot of songs in collaboration with Jerry Garcia, the Dead's lead guitarist...but here's one written with Bob Weir, the Dead's rhythm guitarist. Both Weir and Garcia share the vocals on this one, I like it in part because it tells a story... "We used to play for silver, now we play for life..."

  The death of Alexei Leonov is big news for space nerds like myself.
  
  Just before I left for work this morning, I checked in on the status of the latest EVA at the International Space Station, and saw that someone had noted his passing. Spacewalks may seem like fun and games, but they require a lot of planning on the ground and a lot of mental focus and moxie once in orbit. It is hard to believe that, as of today, there have been 220 US and Russian spacewalks devoted to ISS construction and maintenance since 1998. Alexei would be (and was) proud to see an activity that he first undertook in 1965 has become – to the general public at-least – routine.
  
  To add, Alexei Leonov, he was also the Soviet commander of the Apollo-Soyuz joint mission in 1975.

  I literally just finished El Camino and hopped on Yahoo and saw the news. What a depressing way to end the night, Jackie Brown is one of my favorite Tarantino films, bar none. RIP, Mr. Forster.

  Damn. Big Robert Forster fan here. I remember his short lived ABC series ONCE A HERO in which he played a Bogart type fictional noir detective brought to life to assist a superhero who has crossed over from the comic page into the real world to regain his fading popularity.
  Forster was excellent in everything he did, an am amazing actor. RIP.
