Two comedy greats.
Sometimes you just have to shed a tear or two…..(follow the thread)
For those of you in the US, TCM is scheduled to broadcast a series of his movies on July 28th. The tribute starts at 8:00pm EST, and includes “Enter Laughing” (1967), “All of Me” (1984) and “The Comic” (1969).
Here in the tri-state region (US), MEtv shows the “Dick Van Dyke Show” on Sunday evenings, and last year Mr. Reiner listed ten of his favorite episodes.

I loved The Jerk and The Man With Two Brains... 😁

So sad. Absolute maestro. Wonderful composer!
R.I.P.
That is really sad news. But what an incredible legacy he has left.
Music that will be listened to and loved forever.
A true legend.
My probably favourite scene (and opening credits) from one of my all-time favourite movies wouldn't be imaginable, and certainly not as great, without his music:
As basically applies for hundreds of other famous scenes in film history that he scored.
Riposa in pace, Maestro.
Goosebumps.
The Desert - Ennio Morricone
Ennio arguably composed the greatest score in the history of film Once Upon A Time in The West
First time i heard GBU theme i was sitting in a car , early 90s......i was blown away by it !
A giant has left us , saw him in concert Verona '10 :(
I have loved that theme since I was a little kid. One of my favourite compositions of all time.

RIP Mr. Morricone.
Words can’t even begin to describe the gifts he gave us.

He could be emotional and funny at the same time...
Or epic...
Or badass...
Or even terrifying... (NOTE: Many people credits The Thing's music as being from John Carpenter himself)...
And kind of weird...
But he could also be your boogie man...
Indeed, he deserved being called a Total Musician.
Regarding The Thing, Ennio Morricone reportedly gave director John Carpenter a choice from various approaches. And Carpenter chose the one closest to his own style. On its own and for the film, I absolutely love that score.
(Forgive me…I needed a good laugh after today).
Thanks for this info, @RichardTheBruce . It will come in handy.
The Untouchables theme "weird"?
Love that music!
One of the best times I had in the cinema seeing that film, really partisan audience lapping it up, and Morricones music really major part of it!
(Admittedly a recent viewing showed it hasnt aged well!!)
