  Yet another Major League Baseball Hall of Famer has passed away, as Phil Niekro has died at the age of 81. With his death, seven HOF’ers have now died in 2020.

  I saw Niekro throw a 1-hitter against the Big Red Machine the day before my birthday in 1976. It was disappointing, but the team was resting up for the postseason. It did remind me I have a 1980 Topps baseball card with victory leaders from '79 that is autographed by both Phil and Joe Niekro in the NL and Mike Flanagan in the AL. They have all passed.
  
  I said to a friend of mine after hearing about Phil Niekro the scary part is there are still 4 days left in 2020.

  Actress Dawn Wells has passed away. According to reports she died from COVID-19 complications.

  Of course, most of us (of a certain age) remember Ms. Wells as the “girl next door” opposite the movie star looks of Tina Louise (“Ginger”) on the TV show “Gilligan’s Island.” All of these decades later, the “Mary Ann vs. Ginger” debate rages….a kind of personality test among we guys (again, of a certain age). And while she did countless TV appearances over the years, that role still resonates for many people.

  I remember Hossein mostly from Madame sans Gene were he played Lorens husband , wrote him once but never heard back. RIP

  Always a welcomed presence on TV or film, I remember her most fondly from the Hammer movies - which were (and still are) very popular here in the U.S. The word "Icon" still falls short when it comes to describing her career.

  Very, very sorry to hear that Tanya Roberts has passed at the far-too-young age of 65. She was my first Bond girl crush, and after all these years I will still argue that the franchise is better for her having been a part of it. RIP.

  I heard at LFCC Shelley was so ill she couldnt finish the day. Roberts also had drinking prob from what i heard.

  Now Michael Apted. He did lay out some of the groundwork for Daniel Craig’s era, just in The World is not Enough. Apparently, he almost directed Die Another Day as well, but dropped out just after he signed up. This is according to the book Some Kind of Hero.
