Very sad about Don Everly. I was introduced to the brothers by Simon and Garfunkel, and I had the joy of seeing them live a few times, on their own and performing with S&G.
Yes, I think my first real encounter with the Everly Brothers was when I bought S & G's original "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" album (vinyl of course) way back in 1969 or so which featured "Bye Bye Love", among (again of course) quite a few greater achievements (than their cover version...not bashing the song itself here). But at least they've sort of been with me for 50-some years of my life that way.

    RIP Charlie Watts.
Had the pleasure of seeing the Rolling Stones in Perth a few years back. Unbelievable talent as a drummer.

R.I.P. Charlie Watts, he would have lived several life times over for sure.

I don't think so. They'll probably just keep rolling along with a hired hand in the drummer's seat. The band can't (in my opinion) survive the loss of Mick or Keith, everyone else (which at this point is Ron Wood and that's it) is expendable.

Being of British origin, sadly Ed Asner wasn't so well known to me.
But he'll always be Santa in Elf, and of course Carl in the wonderful Up.
    RIP Ed Asner.

Just read today on Facebook the very sad news that our much loved former member, @barryt007, died (I think) about three days ago on Saturday 28th August 2021. Both his wife and stepson had uploaded the news on their Facebook accounts. I'd noticed a few days ago that Barry had put up a status about not being well on his new Facebook account and on Twitter that he was very badly ill. Barry was a great guy and a good friend to me and many others here. I last chatted to him on 20 January this year (which was his 51st birthday) but he later deleted that Facebook account so unfortunately I hadn't been in touch with him recently.

He'd been going through a rough time of late as I know his daughter's Ewing's sarcoma had come back and she had to have half her leg amputated. Barry wanted me to pass this news on to his friends here at MI6 at the time so I'm sure he'd want you all to know of his sad passing as well. Condolences to his wife Vangie and his whole family circle and friends at this sad and difficult time. 💐🌹

So sad to hear @Dragonpol @barryt007 was a great guy from my few interactions with him. Always a sense of humour about everything.
Sad news, my thoughts will be with his family.

Damn, very sad to hear that. I got along well with Baz, even when stirring him up.

I think a tribute is in order - I will watch a Bond film in honour of him. Guess which one.

It has to be Octopussy, one of my favourites too.

Damn, awful to hear. I tried to add him the other day on his new account after seeing his new profile and how bad he looked but no luck. I feel bad for his wife, as well, can’t imagine what she’s going through. RIP, Barry.

Yes, I tried to add him just last night after noticing a few days ago on his new Facebook account profile picture how much weight he'd lost. Looking back at our messages he actually told me he'd lost a lot of weight back in November 2020 so maybe he'd been feeling ill for a while. Yes, it must be awful for his wife and family. Barry was only married to Vangie 3 years ago this May.
