Made so many great movie
That’s sad. Same here. He came close to directing Batman and Wonder Woman. RIP. Maybe that’s another sign we don’t need another Ghostbusters. He and Harold Ramis were two of the best comedy writers of their generation.
He did.

I had the pleasure of interviewing him way back when in the '90s, when I was involved with a comic book fanzine and visited comic book conventions (including the lgendary UKCAC in London).

Oh no. She was probably my favourite Hammer Girl. Well, her and Barbara Shelley.
She was one of my favorites, too.

The longest running Australian tv show comes to an end this summer. 37 years of Aussie soap drama.
Now, a few other daths : in France, we lost actor Dominique Paturel, who was, among other things, the french voice of Larry Hagman in Dallas, and of Robert Wagner in Hart to Hart. He was 90 years old.

Then, french newsreader Jean-Pierre Pernaud passed away later this week, aged 71, from cancer :

Anf finally, I've just learned of the demise of producer Alan Ladd Jr., the man who reenlighted Star Wars, at the age of 84 :

We're roughly of an age, then. I must confess that I did watch Neighbours a bit back when I was young and foolish (not much has changed in that regard) in the 1990s and had more free time on my hands. Some pretty good storylines back then as I recall. I didn't know it had been cancelled but I did see Channel 5 said the other day that they were stopping showing it and the loss of their financial backing for the show has obviously proved fatal for the future continuance of the show. I'm sure it's a shame too as it helped a good few notable actors and singers to get their breakthrough in show business. I've heard it said that the show was even bigger in the UK than it was in Australia itself. Proof perhaps that you can't be a prophet in your own land and definitely indicative of the vital importance the UK Channel 5 funding of the soap actually had. I do now wonder how long Home and Away (of similar vintage) will last given what's happened to Neighbours...

Shane Warne…just 52. Doesn’t seem possible.
Same day as legend Rod Marsh.
Australia is in mourning
RIP Warnie and Bacchus. 🇦🇺 🇦🇺
Mitchell Ryan , good cop in Magnum Force
Very sad Shane was paying tribute to Rod Marsh shortly before his own passing.
RIP Veronica, what a beauty she was…
Yes. I always thought it was too bad she was never in a Bond film. She did appear on THE SAINT, though.

With the passing of Ms. Goodwin ("The Cage" from 1965) and Sally Kellerman ("Where No Man Has Gone Before"), within the span of a week, we've seen the loss of actresses in both Star Trek pilots.
As a pomme? I idolised this incredible talent. Literally from the first delivery he sent down to Mike Gatting all those many years ago. Thoughts and prayers to all his family and friends.
