I just saw this. RIP. Most unexpected and upsetting.
  • Very sorry to hear of the passing of Mr Ramis. Ghostbusters is a favorite film, and he also did some fine directing work. Best to his family and all who knew him.

    May he rest in peace

    RIP.

I hope it wasn´t the Ghostbusters re-boot thing that laid his systems to ruin.
  • Now I feel awful. Ramis was a reference to me. R.I.P

    Art Deco, good taste!

I don't think that was ever going to happen, personally. It was a bad idea full stop.
  • Harold Ramis...when you weren't being a Ghostbuster you made great movies. Many of which did not receive the attention which they deserved like Bedazzled. You were great at blending themes and creating a nice clear message in your work. You didn't look 69 but you made each year count. You weren't just another Ghostbuster but like Akroiyd got your hands dirty in the process of movie magic. The Buddha of Comedy as Rainn Wilson coined you.

I so enjoyed Harold Ramis's work. I am saddened today. He was not so very old.
Rest in peace, dear Harold. You made us laugh so well, and gave us good films, for so many years, and for years to come.

Wow, quite a shock learning this. Loved all his films- but I'm sure, like a lot of you, GB was a big part of my childhood. Rest in Peace Mr. Ramis. @};-

So saddened at the news that Harold Ramis has died. I know their was a lot of chatter about whether they were ever going to make a 3rd Ghostbusters movie? But now I feel that they should just leave it as it is.

    RIP Egon!

I just learned that movie director Alain Resnais died yesterday, aged 91.

I'm afraid the only movie of his that I've seen was "Toute la Mémoire du Monde", a documentary about the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, which our teacher showed us in high school.

Aw I feel a little bad now :( Just yesterday I was criticising the cinematography of TMWTGG by saying it looked too grey and murky.

Indeed. I'm glad he did. My great aunt lived until she was 95 years old and died just before Christmas 2013.

Harold Ramis introduced me to the world, study and movies about Cosa Nostra with Analyze This. Prior to The Godfather, Sopranos and the history books, all I knew about it came from this movie and I still regard it as a great comedy.

Very sad. I had said some time back I'd like to see her as an older Bond villainess for something a bit different. I remember reading in the mid-1990s that she would like to be a Bond villainess. She was in The Saint with Roger Moore a few times.
