    RIP to an absolute Legend. His comeback is still an unbelievable feat. At an age when boxers have retried, if not on the cusp of retiring, Foreman came out of retirement, and won back the belt he lost so many years before from an opponent 20 years his junior!

    I was very sad to hear of the death of the New Zealand born actor Clive Revill on 11th March at the age of 94. It's just been announced today. He played the Irish poet and IRA gun runner Joe Devlin in the Columbo episode 'The Conspirators' (1978), the last of the original NBC run of the show. It's one of my favourite episodes largely thanks to Revill's great portrayal. It's a very fun and flamboyant portrayal which reminds me a bit of the equally mad Roger Stanford played by Roddy McDowall in 'Short Fuse' (1972). It has a big Northern Ireland connection too which is nice to see for this NI resident and Columbo fan.

    He's very funny in the under appreciated Billy Wilder comedy 'Avanti', plus who could forget him in 'Fathom' ("Dovechick!")

    R.I.P. Clive Revill. He was the original voice of the Emperor in Star Wars (The Empire Strikes Back at least). It's not known why he didn't come back. Also, he was the original voice of Alfred on Batman: The Animated Series. He left after the first 3 (produced) episodes. Simply because of another commitment. He will be missed.

    R.I.P. Richard Norton. I'm only really familiar with him through his work with Cynthia Rotchrock, but he was obviously a legend in the genre, still acting even at the time of his passing.

    RIP Richard Chamberlain. One of my mum's favourite actors. In some ways, I prefer his Jason Bourne to the one we got with Matt Damon. Although the tv miniseries had acvery, very 80s melodrama feel.

    I saw him onstage in Paris in 1995, playing Professor Henry Higgins in a production of My Fair Lady. Funny thing, in that production, the part of Colonel Pickering was played by Bernard Horsfall, of OHMSS fame. Another funny thing, it ws the first time I ever rented a car, given that France was in the grips of one of its infamous strikes in public transports. Still, great show.

    He appeared in a good Columbo episode, that was the first time I became familiar with Clive Revill and Fathom is a fun film. R.I.P.

    Just remembered I watched the second Allan Quartemain film (Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold) with Chamberlain and Sharon Stone on TV a few weeks ago whilst at work, cheesy fun.

    My first memory is of course Dr. Kildare, my sister always fancied him in that!

    Sad to hear of the death of Richard Chamberlain. I remember him best from a really good TV film version of The Count of Monte Cristo (1975). It also starred Bond villains Louis Jourdan, Donald Pleasence and Anthony Dawson.

    Sad news regarding Val Kilmer, He leaves behind a list of very good films.
    I enjoyed Top Secret, where he displayed his comic ability, and although it wasn’t a huge success, I liked The Saint.
    Gone far too soon.

    R. I. P. Val Kilmer I bought Top Gun steel book on bluray a few days ago, half way through my rewatch, Iceman is an iconic character. Val had many great roles, as Jim Morrison Val was superb, I always thought Val made a great Batman, Doc Holiday is the part that really stands out for me...

    I have Kiss Kiss Bang Bang I bought it years ago and still not watched it, now at top of my watchlist. Val was good in Heat though Pacino and De Niro took center stage.

    Val's early films like Real Genius and Top Secret were fun when I watched them as a kid.

    George Lazenby of the 90's Batman series. I always liked him as Batman. Very disappointed Paramount never released The Saint on Bluray with Dutch subs.

    He portrayed Jim Morrison to a tee. He recorded himself as Jim and tricked Stone by having him differentiate between himself and actual Morrison. Stone couldn't and Val revealed that it was only him singing.
