Yes, that's the actor. When he's on screen, he's playing a character. I don't mind.
Ezra Miller is a great actor who's given wonderful performances in films. His personal life is of no importance to me while watching a film. If I did care, there'd barely be a film I could watch, including Connery's Bonds, Kubrick's films, Spacey's films, ... and even bloody Howard The Duck. ;-)
I have a soft spot for Shia. Loved him in Disturbia, Transformers, The Peanut Butter Falcon, Borg vs McEnroe, ... He added lots of charm to those films.
But half of Hollywood is arrogant or aggressive or "loose" or whatever. I respect it if you find that an obstacle when watching films; I just don't see how wide the range of films to watch can remain. 😉 I don't care how arrogant Shia is in real life, I have always liked him in the films I have seen him in. He can be quite charming onscreen and that's good enough for me.

Yes and no. Perry said he wrote it without giving Indy much due to him figuring that most people know of Indy and his adventures.
No worries. Fully respect that. I just think the character was poorly written. The scene where he starts crying when he and Indy find out what happened to John Hurts " not Abner but should have been" character is case in point.
Well, I wasn't a fan of Mutt either. The character could have been better written, indeed. I wish they'd brought back Shortie instead, in fact.

Frankly, Mac and Marion were far more annoying. I never buy Mac as a character, his friendship and betrayal with Indy never feels real. And Marion just becomes a grinning comic relief that acts like a soccer mom at times to Mutt.
Mutt seems to just get a lot of arbitrary hate because the filmmakers had the audacity to give Indy a son and they assumed the worst would be done, like having Mutt take over the series, which was NEVER going to happen. Back in 2008, I always assumed Mutt’s fate was to run a successful business as a mechanic, rather than become an adventurer and educator like his father.
Count me in as well. TOD is my favourite Indy film and Shortround is an essential part of that. I was a kid when I first saw the film. I'd already seen Ke-Huy-Quan in Goonies, a film I absolutely adored. We never learned what happened to Shortround (and Willy). Some closure, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated. ;-)
At the very least, Short Round should have had a cameo at the wedding in KOTCS, rather than just the two brand new characters we only first learn about in that film.

It's like looking at the early Indy films and questioning where all the light sources in the caves and temples are, and why there's always a source of light apparently directly under everyone's chin. It's because it's not real, and Harrison Ford has a wide-brimmed hat on :)
I've always wondered where the light came from both inside the coffin at the crematorium and inside the underground pipeline in DAF. It's sheer magic.
Ha! Yes that is quite funny :D It would certainly be worse to watch if it were more like real life!
