Skyfall - The Poem

edited October 2012 in Skyfall Posts: 2
When the sky falls in
The Heavens fall
All glory collapses
Man stands tall

Hope is all lost
As worlds collide
What was god given is spent
Moon falls into ocean; no more tide

The future has no meaning
No one prays anymore
Wasted effort to pick up the pieces
Eternal life gives way to desperate flaw

No rain to replenish
Rivers run dry
Oceans stand still
Into hands mothers cry

Stars littered on this earth
Men and gods live as one
All of humanity exposed
Thy kingdom come is done

This man made hell
Clouds merge into sea
Light is extinguished
Prophets killed by Pharisee

No longer look up for divine inspiration
Silence follows the furore
Sins of our father no longer forgiven
Enlightenment is for us no more

We kneel to hide in the shadow
Retribution is cruel but just
Terror will now reign forever
Churches ground blithely into the dust

Guilt divides and binds us together
Hell on earth or heaven from above
No one knows or cares for each other
False idol replaces eternal love

We deservedly achieved our damnation
The Lord gave up on us because of mortal sin
Damned forever in perpetuity
God help us all when the sky falls in
