What does fall from the sky?

Does it ever rain in a James Bond film? I think not. In the b&w sequence of Casino Royale, as I recall, the street is wet, but the sky is clear. Corollary: In the books, it rains in London, notably in Dr. No, but I suspect never in the field. Am I correct? Nor, I think, does snow fall on page or screen, though it is sometimes on the ground (OHMSS, FYEO, FAVTAK). Please confirm or deny. Thank you.

Have you actually seen any of these films? It's pouring down at the end of the PTS in Skyfall, and when M returns home to her flat, Quantum? Lashing down when Bond goes to Mitchell's apartment and that's just the last two....
  • It's raining at the beginning of CR when Mr White and Obanno meet Le Chiffre. Also in QoS when Bond arrives in London to meet M at Mitchell's apartment.
  • We had to wait till CR to see rain in a Bond film. It happens during Bond's recovery from being tortured in hospital. Once again in QOS when Bond is in London at Mitchell's flat. Then in SF after Bond is assassinated by Eve and M is looking out over London also the night he breaks into M's house. But in OHMSS you can see that it has been raining on the ground when Bond breaks into the lawyer's office.

There's snow falling down in OHMSS and MR. That's about it pre-2006 I think. ;-)

Snow in OHMSS, rain in OHMSS, CR, QoS and SF. that's what I can remember out the top of my head.
  • It seems to rain a lot in London! SF et QOS!

I've got the impression during the last two Bond movies, that there's a 'wink' towards the British weather. When M returns to London from sunny Italy at the beginning of QoS, its raining - and when she's communicating with Eve from the heat of Istanbul at the beginning of Skyfall, its raining in London again..i thought it was a nice contrast..

It rained horses and bulls in DAD. Well, at least in the form of Ferraris and Lamborghinis, anyway :P

Well, I think the question has been pretty much answered.
