Anyone take Bond's Drive in Goldfinger?

Since the question is asked, I always like the way Fleming describes Bond's pursuit of Goldfinger through France in the novel. So has anyone ever followed the route? For that matter has anyone followed the routes in other books (e.g Bond chasing Drax in Moonraker?)

    great idea for a thread
  • No but I bought a 1950s Esso map of France so I could figure it out according to modern roads.

    Great idea.

What about the drive through Scotland, anyone know exactly what part that is?

I'm doing the drive/pilgrimage through Vermont (where I live) from 'For Your Eyes Only'(book), which includes to Echo Lake and Enosburg Falls.

Somebody posted on the Internet a map of Bond's Goldfinger route. Don't know if they actually drove it or not.

I wonder how different the countryside appears now in comparison to when Fleming wrote Goldfinger.
