    let’s try this: in an early draft of TSWLM, Mankiewicz wrote a line for Anya which includes the name of a character from a previous Bond film. Which character?

    @Last_Rat_Standing has the right idea, but as there’s been no more posts and if you don’t know it it’s pretty much just a guessing game I’ll drop the answer tomorrow and let someone else take over.

    Bond: You’re much more beautiful than you were in your pictures, Major Amasova
    XXX: The only picture we have of you Mr Bond was taken in bed with one of our agents, a Miss Tatiana Romanova
    Bond: And was she smiling?
    XXX: As I recall, her mouth was not immediately visible in the photograph
    Bond: Ah, then I was smiling.

    Apparently Roger loved the line!

    It’s a nice little anecdote recounted by Mankiewicz in Giammarco’s ‘For Your Eyes Only’ - you can imagine Roger delivering those lines with relish!

    Both actors still born in the 19th century, or something like that? But are they really "unique" in that regard? Haven't checked any others so far.

    You are correct - the actors Lotte Lenya and Denis Cowles are the only two people to appear in Bond films who were born in the 19th century. Well done sir.
