I don't think we ever had a decent Bond Girl after Octopussy (now, that woman had presence! Wasn't just a bimbo!) until Elektra King came along. Most of Moore's and the entirety of Dalton's girls (except for Pam to an extent) are just there for the sake of it. I don't feel their need on the screen in the slightest.

I recently that Jeffrey Wright is going to reprise his role as Felix Liether for the third time. I hope he reprise again for the Next 007

Hope he returns too. No confirmation though, he said it's "possible". I wouldn't expect him back after Dan's era, but he could pull a Judi Dench and continue on, or randomly pop up at some point like Hedison did.

How about Felicity Leiter? Felix's daughter. She's followed dad and works for the CIA. Bond seduced her and Felix is not happy. "James, how could you!"

It's fine with me for different actors to portray the character, but when one actor fits well - in my opinion, Jeffrey Wright is great - then I naturally want him to reprise his role.

    Jesus.

Well it's a suggestion. If Bond can drive an invisible car then he can get intimate with Felicity!

Yes, if it's not Fleming bin it. All continuation authors are really just fan fiction.

The Living Daylights was a sensational movie until we get to the boring Afghani Mujahedeen part. Koskov and Kara were the bigger problem than Whitaker ever tried to be. Poorly written character, yes. But, Joe Don Baker makes him enjoyable.

My thoughts exactly, brother. I do love the scenes in Gibraltar, Bratislava and Vienna. And the rooftop escape in Tangier. The desert scenes are kind of dull until the plane fight. Same happens to me with Octopussy: the Germany scenes are fantastic, the ones in India, so-so.

Regarding the topic, I came to think Jeffrey Donovan could be a fantastic Felix Leiter for Bond #7. By the time we'll get a new Bond, it'll be over 10 years after the last episode of Burn Notice so maybe people won't relate both characters, and he's such a great actor that he can be convincing enough to make you think he's another person besides Michael Westen. But I can imagine a scene between Bond #7 and Donovan's Leiter like the climax of TMWTGG (novel) at Scaramanga's train.

Would definitely love that! Donovan would make an outstanding Felix!

Glad to know I’m not the only one who feels that way. Though I enjoy Kingsley Ami’s COLONEL SUN; and that quite literally was a case of “fan fiction”. Though already an esteemed author in his own right, he was Fleming and Bond obsessed.

I feel the same about continuators.

Michael Madsen should have been Felix Leiter with PB in Goldeneye.
  • Felix should definitely stay the same actors, especially with the talent of the current actor who last played the role in QoS. His dialogue about eating peppers in that film is actually a reference to his real passion for gourmet peppers. Jeffrey Wright later starred in a food documentary which explored different kinds of peppers from around the world.

Maybe those peppers really helps his body against the bad water in Bolivia which Beam warned him about.

All I ask is that we get someone with a little screen charisma? I am tired of plain actors who are nothing more then the second rate banana to Bond. Ask your non Bond fans who played Leiter in any of the movies and I doubt anyone will remember. Except for Lord, I think he would be remembered. Why? Cause he was cool, he had some good lines and held his own with Connery. Maybe Van Nutter would have been a good one too, hard to say.

I love Jeffery Wright but the man just doesn't have the presence to really bring the character to life. That might also be the way he was written.

OK well just to say I think Leiter can and should be played by different actors through the years, sure. But if the actor is a good fit for who is playing Bond I'd like it for the same actor to portray him. I do feel that Jeffery was excellent and that he and Craig worked fine together. I definitely want him back in the role. But in general, I don't think there should be a "should" do this (or any other supporting character). Nice when it works, though. Thinking of Moneypenny and Q in particular.

While these dream casting scenarios almost never come to fruition, I would LOVE if this one did. Burn Notice is one of my favorite shows ever and Donovan was so much fun it. Will likely never happen, but I would me smitten if it did. Great call @NS_writings . That would now be my #2 preferred option behind Wright returning!

Or Cedar Leiter as she was known in John Gardner's For Special Services (1982). So it's already been done.

I'd never want Gardner's novels to spill into the films. He made some awful choices. Also, Felix should be a blonde Texan with the build of Frank Sinatra and hawk like feuatures. Wade in the Brosnan era was terrible.......he was grossly incompetent and just made the CIA look stupid.

IMO, Wade made Sheriff J.W. Pepper look as cool as Sean Connery in THUNDERBALL.

I'd argue that it would be the other way around. Personally, I prefer Jack Wade to Sheriff J.W. Pepper.

After seeing Red Sparrow, I thought Joel Edgerton would be a good Felix Leiter...

He also kind has a bit of Jack Lord about him :)

I'm not really a fan of Jeffrey Donovan, I think he's too "television" for the role.

Jeffrey Wright is setting a record now, with three appearances as Leiter.

Fun fact: Wade was named after the script polisher Kevin Wade.

Jeffrey Wright, or death. At least for a handful more films, anyway.
