Well, it's 59 now as the first one was posted in January 2013, but yes a very tall order. They'll hopefully appear over 2013-14 and possibly even 2015, God-willing. I've got some interesting new stuff on Gardner on the way - especially Scorpius (1988). More on that later. I'm going to finish off my series on Kingsley Amis - two to go there on my three-part series. The other articles are entitled 'The Strange Death of Colonel Sun' and 'Amis' Thing with James Bond'. Glad you're interested in the titles.
Anyone else care to comment. I live for comments on these titles as it's very rewarding to hear back from fans on what they find most interesting. I then tend to post on these areas first.
Thank you, @007InVT. I knew you'd be interested in the articles on flowers. As I say, I have a series coming up on the symbolism of flowers that you may find interesting, called 'Flowers of Evil'.
Indeed. I can't get enough!
Neither can I! I love the use of flowers in literature and film as motifs. It's something I'm very interested in - see my monograph on Never Send Flowers by John Gardner when it goes up on the blog.
Thank you for your reply @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7. Very much appreciated. Nearly all of the article titles you mention are coming up soon as they are the ones on the stocks currently.
All other replies are most welcome.
Thank you for your further reply.
Any other MI6 members willing to give their views on favourite titles/subject areas at all?
Now, that´s a mouthful...
What about 'Talk of the Devil'? Seems like a trove of info in that. You need to get that book @Dragonpol
Yes, @007InVt, there would be indeed, if only I could afford it! I'm saving up for another book on Fleming's oeuvre though that should help me out on The Bondologist Blog. I have plenty of ideas left.
Wow @ggl007! I'm truly glad that you like so many of them. I'll aim to deliver these.
Any further interest in these titles will be very much appreciated by this blog author. I'd love to hear from more of you as I find it all most encouraging.
Thank you. You will get your wish as there's plenty of new and revelatory material on Ian Fleming on the way on The Bondologist Blog.
Agreed.
What's your top 3 books on Fleming @Dragonpol and @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7?
Books on Fleming?
Do you mean by him or about him?
John Pearson
Andrew Lycett
Henry Chancellor
would be my picks if you are referring to the latter.
Anyone read the rare Ivor Bryce one?
Thanks!
I got a copy last year in a mad Bond book buying binge!
Have yet to read it though. I think that there were two eds as the Thunderball chapter was edited - 1975 and 1984 if I remember correctly. I think I had the older first ed.
I haven't read any books focusing on Fleming, unfortunately, if that is what you mean.
Strange to read that. I thought that you would have given your interests, @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7!
I'd love to hear more views on your favourite article titles and briefly the reasons why.
I have never found a book on Fleming, that's all. My other interests (as well as literary) more than keep me busy these days. But, hopefully I will find a good book on Fleming in the future.
I'd recommend the Andrew Lycett one and the John Pearson one to you.
Good. You should enjoy it.
