Good analogy, but I personally use the army one: Largo, Greene, Rosa Klebb and so on are field commander, while the big bad is the general.
I do find Chiwetel a bit young, that said he is older than Toby Stephens as Gustav Graves and he has the same age as Scaramanga in the novel. And, of course, he could play an older character than himself (like Bardem did).
And can someone change the title, since it is still misleading?
There's a lot to play with there. I think it would be a shame to fall back on "comfort zones"...
I agree here. I have seen Sweden in summertime and it is gorgeous. And yes, there os a geopolitical aspect of Scandinavia that can be a gold mine for plots. And also characters: if Chiwetel Ejiofor does not become the next villain, there are many Scandinavian actors who could play the badguy magnificently.
That said, it's not because the actresses are Scandinavian that the film will be shot there. And there is the financial aspect that may be an issue, especially in Norway.
Yes.
I never insinuated an article was related to my Gala Brand / Loelia Ponsonby speculation. The title does not, in my honest opinion, infer any such thing. In long, I would have it read "Bond 24 Production Timeline - Could The British Actress The Team Is Scouting For Play The Elusive Gala Brand Or Loelia Ponsonby For The First Time On Film?" but that is messy.
Seeing as this is a Discussion, which is driven by other users' input, I will yield and change the topic to focus on the possibility of the Scandinavian region featuring in the film based on the hunt for an actress of such region, as that seems to be where the talk has shifted.
I understand the confusion I may have caused, but nowhere have I ever stated that this thread will strictly feature facts. It's a timeline that includes every piece of news and rumor (see: speculation) related to the production of the film. The news is that the film will feature a British actress as the lead Bond girl. The rumor (of my own creation, which could have easily been published by any film-related magazine on the planet) is that it could be Gala Brand or Loelia Ponsonby, two characters never before realized on film.
I apologize if I have offended anybody, but in my eyes there is, and was, no issue.
Moving on,

Seems interesting. Is there a thread for this ?
That is indeed very cool, and I myself pledged. But it is very out of place in this thread and very off topic. It does not have its own thread, so if you would like to open one I welcome you to it.
Danjaq and MGM have filed a lawsuit against Universal Pictures' spy project Section 6, claiming the film features "a daring, tuxedo-clad British secret agent, employed by 'His Majesty's Secret Service,' with a 'license to kill,' and a 00 secret agent number on a mission to save England from the diabolical plot of a megalomaniac villain..." and wishes to cease production of the film due to similar elements to the James Bond franchise.
Daniel Craig left the production of The Whole Truth, set to be his only film between Skyfall and B24, for unknown reasons causing production of the lawyer drama to be halted.
Variety just picked up the scoop: http://variety.com/2014/film/news/daniel-craig-bails-on-thriller-the-whole-truth-1201154597/
"There's no news, like bad news." :)
So the title pulled you in? Isn't that the point?

Still scary. But better than speculation being labeled as news.
I do have reservations about what direction his career will head once he steps down from Bond.
If it will give you the satisfaction, start your own 'fact' thread and I will see to it to flag every post as overlap with my thread.
If you are unwilling to do that, don't waste space by posting your non-issue comments in the thread and disrupt the conversation. There is a fantastic message system if you wish to contact me with a relevent concern.
I don't know. The 'double-O' title is definitely Bond property.
Hey, don't get on your high horse. I simply meant that since this thread was about Bond 24 News, updating its title with speculation was misleading. I did not say willingly misleading, merely that it was.
Maybe he's getting a bit more shrewd in his choices and saw something in The Whole Truth that made him jump ship but yes this could get him a bad reputation.
I think he'll come into his own once he's finished Bond and when he's free of the role and the pressure we'll see him make some better choices, Brosnan has certainly done OK for himself since leaving the role.
I was the first to say I thought Craig would be a star outside of Bond during his tenure but his output hasn't actually proved that, Cowboys was probably his best shot but that didn't work out like it should have.
Brosnan was Bond for seven years and during that time he made the Thomas Crown Affair and Tailor of Panama. Craig has been Bond for seven years now and I don't think he's made anything as good as those yet, which is surprising really because he's a really good actor, you'd think he'd make more good films.
TTCA and TOP are good films but I haven't bought them and are unlikely to watch them in the near future.
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is a masterpiece and better than any Bond movie Craig has ever done. Yes, it's even better than Casino Royale. Brosnan has never been in a movie as good as that and I don't think he ever will.
Maybe Craig is more of a thespian.
TGWTDT is great, but calling it a masterpiece? Heavens no.
Yeah I'm gonna have to agree with the above posters. TGWTDT far exceeded anything Brosnan has done pre, during, or post Bond. I believe the film would've been a much bigger hit had it not been released during the Christmas season. Grim movies like that don't exactly fit in with the holiday spirit. None the less, while I wouldn't go as far as to call it a masterpiece but it was still an excellent film and a feather in the cap of Daniel Craig.
