It was just confirmed that I'll play Q's assistant.
And can we start posting Cruz pics
What he said.
Beside, given her age (39 now) and her fame, it is highly unlikely that she will ever be a Bond girl now. They generally cast relative unknown as Bond girls and it has been the case so far during the Craig era.
The French get easily excited like this.
Why? Because he's making Nigerians proud and looked "incredibly suave" in B roll footage? Or because you so desperately want him to be the villain?
Look, I'm perfectly fine with Chi as the next Bond villain as long as he's not Blofeld, but I'm unaware of anything other than rumors about his involvement with Bond at this point.
Well, insiders say he is the top choice. It appears as more than rumours to me but let's see what happens.
There is some credibility to the rumours, let's put it this way, but even then that is not a given yet, even if he was being considered. How many rumors were they about Le Chiffre when CR was being made?
Well we don't really know anything, do we?
Since the Penelope Cruz will be the next Bond girl is a rumour that appeared about a dozen times and given her age, it is very unlikely. Especially since the other actresses mentioned have more the profile: their are unknown.
What has any of that got to do with anything? Don't act like a dick unnecessarily. I'm saying it looks as though he'll be the villain based on the widespread rumours and the fact that he nor anyone else for that matter has denied it. He may very well have no involvement with the film but imo, I think there's a strong possibility that he is.
I'm still not convinced Cruz is set for the film. We *know* the main Bond girl will be British, right? And the secondary will be Scandinavian. So where does Cruz fit in? I think she would have been perfect for the role of Severine, but I don't see anything for her now. It would be weird having the spouse of the last villain in the new movie.
Besides, they haven't even locked their primary choice for a villain yet, so why would they be locking down other roles? As far as we know, they're still working with a spec script from Logan.
Just thinking... that was before even Mendes was signed on to direct. Perhaps the producers were pushing forward a plan with Logan with eyes on attaching Cruz to the project once they found a director, and then Mendes came on board and they gave him creative free will. That would explain the original rumors, and an official company document with her name on it. Perhaps it was a previous plan that is no more, and the list just has yet to be updated?
I hope, when those do come, they are true.
Spacey > Ejiofor
I might even make that a t-shirt.
Although Penelope Cruz has been announced just a few days ago as the new Schweppes icon, and, well, the company could have been convinced by the agent claiming she would soon be back in the light in the movie theaters with a big role. So there's some food for everyone's opinion.
"What did you expect, Mr Bond ?"
Acting-wise, I agree. But the thing with Spacey though is that he's played so many villains (Usual Suspects, Seven, Superman Returns, House of Cards) that I don't think he can add much to the role. I'm more excited to see what Ejiofor can do with the role given the opportunity than Spacey.
