Seems like a small place for a chase, not sure. Anyway, loved to see the first photos popping in.

Can someone KILL those damn hacker-basterds??? X( . Hacking is a nice subject for movies, hence Silva. But this is really getting out of hand. Anyway, kill them!!

Are you an agent of SPECTRE? Well, then I am one too! How dare they post this. Call Number One. We've got some clean up to do.

I do not understand why some people ( not on this site in particular, just in general movie terms ) have to know every cough and spit of a movie months before it opens.
The spoilers are just a very, very minor side effect of what is happening. I'm not from the US, so I don't really realize what that means, but I have friends of friends at Sony who have all their US administrative data made "public", "anyone" can know their social security number, their salary, and other stuff, and it is a big problem for them it seems. Seeing their boss' professionnal mails is almost the fun part of the whole affair. But they know their own mailboxes are next in line if the leak continues...

It's a bit like Quentin Tarantino and the Hateful Eight script. It first made him abandoned the movie, but he'll do it anyway. And most people won't read the script before going to the movie anyway. But I guess the fun is spoilt on the QT forums about guessing what the movie will be about.

The reason Tarantino was upset after The Hateful Eight script leak was not that he didn't want people to know the story before the release of the movie. After all, the scripts of Inglorious Basterds and Django Unchained had leaked too before the releases of those films. The reason he was upset this time was that this time it was not the final version that leaked.

Tarantino has said on multiple occasions that he likes the fact that people are looking for his screenplays once they have leaked and that they want to read them. In other words, this time he got upset because he didn't want people to read a version of his latest screenplay he was not completely satisfied with. (By the way, the movie will have 5 chapters and he has completely rewritten the last one.)

There are several studies out there that prove that spoilers don't ruin stories. Take any movie based on a book for example. I have already read the novel Gone Girl before watching the film but that did not ruin the movie for me. If I were the producer of a Bond movie, I would put the whole screenplay up on the official website on the first day of principal photography. Most people would not read it anyway and Bond fans could decide for themselves whether they want to know everything or not. The screenplay being available for everyone would also prevent story details from being leaked by tabloid writers.

I just want to say to @antovolk and others, please do not post links or quote for any of those leaks here. Just my opinion. But I wanted to say that clearly. I do not want them on this forum. Yeah, I know I don't own the forum. But I feel strongly that this is a crappy way to learn things about a film, let alone illegally obtained. Where is the joy of speculating and seeing onset photos and having one or two things figured out along the way to SPECTRE's release? These leaks suck the joy right out of that. And they are damaging.

If there are any you feel you must share, for whatever reason, always uses spoiler tags. I'm very unhappy things are leaked - peoples' lives badly damaged. It is not amusing or interesting to me, and I am a lifelong Bond fan.

I am hoping Spectre is as dark mysterious and intriguing as Casino Royale and Quantum Of Solace was in my opinion

Thanks, @NicNac - I really want the admins and mods to get a clear policy posted regarding these leaks. Not the usual problem; but urgent. Otherwise I (and possibly others) may have to leave this forum until SPECTRE is released, and that would really hurt me. If I cannot come here and know that damaging spoilers will be kept - at the very least - in spoiler tags, then I cannot enjoy this forum the way I have for more than two years.

I am going to post one COMPLETELY SPOILER FREE line from the leaks, just to show you how abysmal the spelling is:

DOESNT MAKE SENS ETHAT HE WANT TO GO LOOK FOR THE DOCUEMTN

Who writes like that? Who writes in all capitals and with that many typos? Anyway, these 4 pages are nothing and if nothing else leaks, then EON has nothing to worry about. 2 pages are written in all capitals (again, who does that?), one of these pages is nearly completely incomprehensible and filled with typos and the other one is a page long feedback. This feedback contains a lot of spoilers but nothing major we haven't guessed before. The other 2 pages contain feedback written after a very early draft.

Several major characters aren't mentioned at all and it's not like these four pages tell the whole story of the movie from the first scene to the last one.

The spelling and English is crap. But if it is a personal email between people using a second or third language and not caring how they spell ... maybe that explains it.
Just don't care to read any of it. But thanks for being careful with your post, ggl007.

I definitely will not read your second link. I wish that the hacked emails and links associated with those would not be posted at all actually. :(

Huh? This stuff is so bad it doesn't have any relation to being native English or not. And who isn't a fluent English speaker going over script ideas on Bond?

    This makes zero sense.

It does not make sense. Even typing fast could possibly explain it, but who cares? There is no merit really in trying to discern why there is such lousy use of language. These are personal emails after all.

Simply when things are leaked, maybe this letter couldn't be retrieved properly hence the terrible spelling. I'm sure it wasn't deliberate.

I still doubt these 4 pages are genuine and if they are: who wrote them? Why would Sony suits with awful spelling give EON and Mendes feedback about the script? How on Earth could a business executive possible think he could give any advice regarding a script to people who tell stories for a living?

I think they may be Sony staff chatting among themselves.

Generally speaking, what happens if Sony executives hate a Bond script? Can they force EON to change it? I really don't understand the relationship of Sony, MGM and EON regarding creative decisions. What control do Sony and MGM have over the creative aspects of a Bond movie?

    @ColonelSun ? (Sorry to bother you again. :) )
  • I am no way an expert on this stuff, but is it possible that as a security measure, these messsages had been scrambled/obsucured and that the hackers (imperfectly) unscrambled the transmissions?
Certainly don't plan on visiting the links that maybe from this SONY hack? It is one thing on here where you can avoid stuff you do not want to know? But to run a risk like that? Just not worth it! [-X
  • The Sony leak has caught up with 'Spectre'! A number of emails have leaked between Barbara Broccoli and Amy Pascal revealing how the film is grossly over-budget.

HEALTH WARNING: The last sentence includes potentially huge spoilers for 'Spectre'

I think they need another script rewrite, or fixup after this leak. What a mess.
