YES, it sounds much more like my kind of 007 than SKYFALL was. Hope running high at this point.
I think so far the reviews are spot-on no?? I mean, "The Guardian" 5 stars? That's unique:

Just don't click them @Tuulia. I think this will only happen these first days. And as long as people do not post entire reviews in here and stick to a spoiler-free link, then I don't see any problem.
Right. Trying to piss me off on purpose, are you? You think I'm entirely stupid? Of course I didn't click. But links, headlines, any discussion and commentary give away stuff, how difficult is it to get that? I made a simple and entirely reasonable request and your reaction was to go on and on about reviews, and tell me not to click - I scrolled past as fast as I could since I noticed what you were doing. Why do people have to go on about reviews in this thread when there's a review thread specifically for that purpose?
I'm hereby abandoning this thread as well. Asking for any co-operation is clearly useless.
If people read them they will then comment in this thread. The links don't need to be in here.
If it is indeed not as "good" as Skyfall it undoubtably will have to do with the script again. Many critics speak of plot holes or one twist too many, off the peg plot lines etc.
Furthermore several have stated it feels more like a successor to QOS than SF, not really comforting either...
What about the people who want the 'headlines', but not the details. I don't think it's much to ask for people to keep this thread relatively spoiler free. There are plenty of other threads to spoil the movie in. I'm not speaking for myself here, but others. Any US residents who regularly use this board shouldn't have to leave completely for two weeks, if everyone can keep themselves in check in 'one' thread.
Hey @RC7. I just created a new topic, like you suggested. With short spoiler-free headlines, only ratings in stars if available, and a corresponding link.
I think that's the best way to create such a spoiler-free topic. I keep updating the opening post, so it will accumulate more.
Here's the link:

■ ■ ■ ■ ■, MI6-HQ.com, @DoubleoNothing: "Whilst 'Skyfall' was a critical and financial success, there were many amongst the dedicated fans that felt it veered too widely from the classic James Bond mould and simply had too many contrivances..[.........]..With 'SPECTRE', Mendes has really flexed his directing muscles. It is fair to say that Mendes is more at home with actors and eliciting performance than with cinematic savoir-faire, but with 'SPECTRE' there are some beautiful flourishes that really show that Mendes is far more than an actor's director, far more than a theatre director who has transposed his craft to the screen.":

Isn't that very...Connery-esque? Daniel Craig needs to frikkin' stay. Give the man more money.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-3284223/WORLD-VIDEO-EXCLUSIVE-Bond-James-Bond-Daniel-Craig-introduces-himelf-iconic-line-Monica-Bellucci-steamy-new-Spectre-clip.html
safe to say :))
sure, without having seen the movie...
at the moment it looks more than another QOS than CR, judging from the many reviews
You are delirious. At this moment I would say this could happen:
95% TomatoMeter RottenTomatoes: "CASINO ROYALE"
92% TomatoMeter RottenTomatoes: "SKYFALL"
90% TomatoMeter RottenTomatoes: "SPECTRE"
.
.
.
.
.
65% TomatoMeter RottenTomatoes: "QUANTUM OF SOLACE"
Now THAT'S a bunch of realism and objectivity I am throwing in your face right now :-). It's already more of a fact that "SPECTRE"s RT-rating is a neatly 6% removed from "Casino Royale", but a whopping 25% removed from "Quantum Of Solace". So you're talking nonsense.
I know it's early to tell.
Anyway, I'm glad the reviews are mostly good. Nowhere near the euphoria in 2012 though.
And many saying SP is not as good as SF leaves me worried :)) (a tiny bit) :))
Let's be honest, where a lot of people were waiting to love SF, a lot were waiting to hate SP. There's a video, which I now can't find, of four blokes doing a quick review outside the Odeon. The guy in the middle is basically gagging to say how he doesn't like it, not with a look of disappointment, but a look of restrained glee. There are too many people like that these days, even Bond fans. It's laughable. If I were to not like a film my overriding emotion would be disappointment. Some people just revel in baselessly knocking things.
Agree. They didn't even have anything interesting to say.
True, it's a British tradition to build something/someone up, then knock them down. I also wonder if some critics realised they over-rated Skyfall. When you say Skyfall is flawless, 5 stars and the best Bond ever, it doesn't give you much room to manouvre when a better film comes along. It's possible you would feel even more focussed to "find" the flaws. Not saying that's what has happened with any reviews, just that it could.
You are slightly delirious. And your negativity is spinning slightly out of control :-). At this moment I would say this could happen:
95% TomatoMeter RottenTomatoes: "CASINO ROYALE"
92% TomatoMeter RottenTomatoes: "SKYFALL"
90% TomatoMeter RottenTomatoes: "SPECTRE"
.
.
.
.
.
65% TomatoMeter RottenTomatoes: "QUANTUM OF SOLACE"
Now that's a bit more realism and objectivity I am throwing at you :-). It's already more of a fact that "SPECTRE"s RT-rating is a neatly 6% removed from "Casino Royale", but a whopping 25% removed from "Quantum Of Solace". So you're talking nonsense.
By the way, I don't know why you keep referring to the average rating, as the TomatoMeter is the one to look out for. Secondly, only 7 reviews are in on MetaCritic.
